The product is really great because it’s a long lasting chew. They are thick and it takes the dog time to gnaw through them. My dog loves these and I love giving her natural chews.The only problem I have is the packaging. As you can see by the photos, the packaging is torn in many places so I don’t know how fresh the product is when it arrives to me. The product is in no way damaged, and it could be that because the tendons are so thick and rigid that during shipping and handing, the product caused the tearing of the packaging. Luckily, Amazon had it in their shipping bag so it was somewhat protected.Still, I recommend these to anyone who has a dog as mine really enjoys these!

I was looking for an alternative to rawhide that my dogs didn't chew up in a few minutes. I have found that the Nature Gnaws Paddywack sticks are long lasting and a healthy natural alternative. The pieces are random in thickness, width and length and after going through one bag I have learned what size and thickness will keep my dogs busy for a while. I have a pair of industrial scissors that I can carefully cut the wider sticks along the "grain" to divide them in half. These seem to be a bit more brittle than rawhide as I can hear my dog crunching on them but so far they are the best long-lasting alternative to rawhide that I have found. They are a bit pricey but not as much as other rawhide alternatives when you consider how long they keep your best buddies busy.

My dog loved them. As I watched her eat one it seemed to break off into sharp splinters, I didn't like that. I was afraid she would swallow on and it would get stuck or perforate something.

I have a power chewer and this is one that I can count on for an extended time.

First my dogs actually turned these down, were completely utterly disinterested. I couldn’t believe it, because they love the other similar chews by this brand! But when Sophie the Dachshund FINALLY picked one up and started gnawing, as I watched, I became nervous about the texture of the tendon. It was a thick-ish, very hard slab, and unlike other full tendons, which gnaw down slowly and often in soft short strings, this thing chipped and splintered. I took a large broken-off chip out of Sophie’s mouth and while it felt softened somewhat, I still felt it not worth the risk of her just swallowing it. Believe me, we’ve had too many trips to the doggie ER, both for real emergencies - and Mommy here getting obsessively worried.Really not too sure about this one.I just could not trust they wouldn’t swallow too sharp a piece. Other families seemed to have a great experience and love these. No knock on them. All dogs and owners are different. And I love many of the brands’ other products. But not this one.I almost feel bad giving a bad review. But I must say what I was worried about. If someone could explain to me that’s it’s actually ok and the splinters and shards get soft enough, I would be pleased to hear and change.
