I prefer this over all ive tried.. **Q: How does this scent compare to the original scent they had years ago, the initial formula?** A: I'm not 100% sure what you're asking so I'll explain it like this. This is the new Lavender scent and is called Calm. If your referring to the original Lavender scent, which was called Lavender Serenity, they are both a mix of lavender and vanilla and the fragrance is very close, if not the same scent. Lavender is very calming and I love it. If you are referring to the original Downy scent they started with years ago, that scent is called April Fresh and is a completely different scent. There are no similarities at all to this one. The April Fresh scent is still available on Amazon. Look for the pink cap.
