(He doesn't jump up on this particular piece of furniture) He continued to get on that piece of furniture and even was hugging up on the box it came in. That's when I smelled the catnip. He loves this toy and it keeps him pretty busy. It seems to be well made and I hope it lasts for awhile. It helps keep him busy. I highly recommend this product.

**Q: How long did you have to charge this. I put it on overnight and it did not work**
A: Hello,

Some customers reported the same problem and they all finally fixed it. Maybe in the instruction sheet, we fail to make things clear, sorry about that.

First of all could you please read carefully below key points and ensure you have done all of them correctly? If it still won't work, I will send a new replacement, no worries.

1. When charging, the motor glows red light; When fully charged, the light goes out. In the instruction sheet in the package, it mentions about the green light, please ignore it. We upgraded the motor only recently and haven’t got a chance to modify the instruction sheets;
2. It takes only about 90 mins to get the motor fully charged from "no battery power'. After the red light goes out, it indicates “fully charged”;
3. After fully charging the motor, be sure to flip the switch on and then tap the fish belly to get the fish moving just like cats would do with their paws.   

If you have tried all the things mentioned above, the fish still won't move or hold a charge, please reply to me and i will send you a new replacement. Don't worry. But before that, i need to confirm that you have done all the things correctly.

**Q: Description says "warning: please use chargers under 5v to charge the fish cat toy".  is an iphone charger ok ? burning smell due to greater than 5v ?**
A: Hello, thanks for reporting your problem. Yes, an iphone charger shoule be fine. There seemed to be some problem with your charging cord. We just tested 1,000 charging cords and 2 of the them got overheated. Could you please send us an email with your shipping address so that we can send you a new moving fish with new charging cord?  We have urgently talked with our charging cord supplier and asked them to upgrade the cords. Sorry for everything.

**Q: Does it make noise?**
A: It makes noise as in when you turn it on, the mechanism makes noise as it wiggles, almost sounding like a remote control car, but not as intense. As for any sort of “attractant” type noise, deafening bubbles like a similar brand, or meowing sounds, No it does not.

**Q: My cat is allergic to cat nip. Does the toy come with some already inside, other than what is included in the bag?**
A: Hello,

The fish toy does not include any catnip inside other than what is included in the bag. But the fish already contains catnip smell since it's packaged together with the catnip pouch. If your cat is allergic to catnip, you can put the fish aside for a while and let the catnip smell fade before giving it to your cat. Let us know please if you have any other questions.

This review is for the "realistic" version of Potaroma Cat Toys Flopping Fish. My cat got bored with it pretty quickly, but it was fun to watch the interaction while it lasted. I do believe that the included catnip was old as she didn't really seem to have much reaction to it. The catnip is included, but is contained in a cloth bag inside the fish so I would guess that it's potency had been drained before arriving to our house. I'm not a catnip expert, but maybe if it had been shipped in a plastic bag and transferred by the owner into the cloth bag, it would be more effective. I may pick up some fresh catnip at the pet store to see if it makes a difference. The action of the fish works well. It lays still until interacted with and it starts flopping it's tail for a few seconds and then stops unless the cat is batting or biting at it. Everything seems pretty durable and it's nice that it is rechargeable rather than having to buy batteries for it every time you turn around. Overall, it's a pretty cool and fun item. I'm just a little disappointed that the catnip had already lost it's charge.
