Raddy RF760 Broadband Shortwave Radio, Multiband Radio FM/AM/SW/CB/VHF(UHF)/WX/Air, Rechargeable Digital Radio with Headphone Jack, 3m Wire Antenna

I've owned somewhere north of 100 shortwave radios over 60 years, so I'm an experienced listener. Based on the considerable negative commentary in Amazon reviews, I was somewhat hesitant to make a purchase, but the discounted price was about half of the price the RF760 when it was introduced in 2022, and I decided to give it a try. So let me cover the negatives first. The biggest negative is the sound quality from the speaker. It's tinny. Speech is understandable, but music of any genera is unpleasant to listen to. The headphone experience, however, is good. I didn't try the included earbuds (I have a big box of unused earbuds that come with radios) but rather some good headphones. There is no booming bass, but the midrange is good. The second negative is the complexity of operation. This unit has 8 bands, including a user-defined band. It allows step settings, bandwidth settings, attenuation settings, deemphasis settings and a squelch. It has upper and lower sideband decoding. It has a clock, alarm, sleep timer and a thermometer with display in F and C. It manages all that with a mere 11 buttons and a knob. With that said, basic reception is possible with what could be easily figured out for someone familiar with other radios. The third negative is the user manual, which is not the most helpful in places, and whose English is somewhat nonstandard. Just what is a "flying shuttle button"? There is a way to quickly tune to a specific frequency without number keys, but it's hidden in the manual in a mass of awkward English. The display is readable as far as the basic information, band, frequency, memory location and signal quality, but there are some setting items that are almost microscopic, and unless your close up vision exceeds 20-20, you will need a magnifying glass to see some of the things (that probably don't matter). In a radio this small it is inevitable that the telescopic antenna is thin and the user should take care not to bend it. One video I saw showed the antenna becoming loose, but I have not seen this so far. I would suggest a little silicone lubricant on the antenna. Others reported problems with the tuning knob that I have not seen either. I gave the radio 5 stars from the point of view of an experienced shortwave listener who wants a pocket radio that does everything, someone who has seen their share of bad translations from the Chinese. With such a small size plus weather alerts, it makes sense as a camping radio or a travel radio, and I was frankly surprised at how well it performs. It exceeded expectations. MW performance is necessarily poor because of the small size of the radio, limiting the size of the internal MW antenna, but with an external antenna, I got 10 times as many MW stations! And with an external antenna, the RF760 automatically adds longwave reception, shown in the video I included of a nondirectional beacon on 351 kHz. FM coverage is very good and I didn't see any signs of overloading. Shortwave is reasonable. Weather band reception is the best I have seen. Raddy includes a simple external wire antenna, giving a significant boost. The auto tune search (ATS) seems to work well, but there are only 100 storage locations per band (1000 total), and one might exceed that on shortwave with an antenna. I tried SSB reception on the 40 meter ham band. The biggest difficulty was the impenetrable language of the manual. If you ignore all the part about "2MIX" that apparently doesn't even exist, it makes a little more sense. My unit serial number started 2411, so I am speculating that it was manufactured in November of 2024, perhaps correcting issues with earlier runs.

Goede , goedkope kleine ontvanger die “alles” ontvangt op de band. Gekocht om in mijn rugzak mee te nemen als ik ga wandelen.Zo groot als een spel kaarten. Leuk om altijd bij je te hebben om naar muziek , wereldontvangers , etc …te luisteren. Vervangt zeker niet een gespecialiseerde radio.

Zunächst : Ich habe mich ein wenig mit dem Thema Weltempfänger und Amateur Funk beschäftigt, kann also inzwischen beurteilen, ob das etwas taugt oder nicht. Dieses Mini Teil ist für seine Größe im Empfang hervorragend ausgestattet! : FM,AM mit LSB und Ssb, Flugfunk, CB Funk und VHF/UHF (PMR) sind zumindest laut Datenblatt vorhanden. CB und PMR etc ist wegen nur minimal vorhandenen aktiven Funkern hier in meiner gegen und überhaupt in Deutschland nur schwer zu testen. Allgemein gilt : Wer gut etwas verstehen will, sollte den beigelegten ohr hörer oder anderen Kopfhörer verwenden, denn der Lautsprecher ist natürlich auch klein... Und daher blechern mit wenig Frequenzbereich... War aber wegen des kleinen Lautsprechers zu erwarten. Kopfhörer Klang ist gut... FM in Stereo möglich. Klang detaillierter einstellen geht leider nicht. Der Empfang auf KW und MW ist erstaunlicherweise fast (!) so gut wie mit dem großen Malahit SDR... Super! Allerdings empfiehlt es sich, due filigrane bordeigene Auszieh Antenne nicht zu verwenden und besser über den 3,5mm Klinken Anschluss externe Antenne zu verwenden. Der Malahit hat mit seinem HiViz Anschluss hier noch die Nase vorn, da Donut Antennen mit Verstell rad für die Frequenz Bereiche hier echt noch Gewinn bringen. Flug Funk empfang ist gut, allerdings ohne effektiven Squelch Erfolg (obwohl 9 Stufen möglich sind, schluckt es alles an Stufe 1 und nur OFF ist Empfang möglich... Wenn nicht gesprochen wird rauscht es aber dann selbstverständlich. Ssb fkt einwandfrei, so ist auch Dwd Wetter Funk RTTY hut zu empfangen... Wird aber selbstverständlich nicht de kodiert, da kein SDR vorhanden ist (Mein Malahit macht das aber auch nicht... Warum nicht, konnte ich noch nicht rsusfinden) Zum Lieferumfang des Raddy ist angemessen: 1 (Nokia Klon) Akku, USB Lade Kabel (ohne Netzteil), 3,5mm klinke Wurf Antenne (hab ich nicht probiert), Handschlaufe, deutsches und relativ ausführliches Handbuch Insgesamt ist dss, kleine Radio prima für Touren unterwegs oder im "Flucht Rucksack" für Prepper Gehäuse ist aus Plastik, aber OK verarbeitet,, das Display ist scharf und Hintergrund beleuchtet, Due Taten exakt zu bedienen, allerdings nur ohne dicke Handschuhe. Bedienung aller gebotenen Funktionen erfordert definitiv das Studium der Anleitung... Inzuituv ist es nicht Man hat aber recht den Dreh raus. Eine Zehner Tastatur zur direkten frequenzen Eingabe vermisse ich ein wenig beim "Dixxen" . Das Radio ist dafür aber definitiv zu klein. Fazit : Einziger Mini Mini Weltempfänger mit externem Antennen Anschluß für guten Empfang. Gute Ausstattung im. Mini Format... Ideal für Touren mit wenig Platz für ein Radio. Der Preis von ca. 75€ ist günstig für das Gebotene... Volle Empfehlung (5 Sterne)

Ce petit RF760 est surprenant à tout point de vue. Je possède plusieurs récepteurs de trafic "ultra-portable", un Tecsun PL-368, un ATS200, un Raddy RF757 et je dois dire que ce RF760 est de loin le meilleur pour ce qui est de la sensibilité réception. Pas besoin de déployer l'antenne pour la réception FM en zone urbaine, le scan est rapide et ne manque aucun signal. Très large couverture fréquence dans les modes AM FM USB et LSB. Contrairement à ce qu'on peut lire dans d'autres commentaires, j'ai trouvé la prise en main relativement simple et pratique. A noter que le mode d'emploi est une traduction approximative du chinois en anglais, mais c'est compréhensible et on arrive à maitriser la bête assez facilement. La réception de la bande aviation est vraiment excellente. L'antenne intégrée est très fine, mais pas plus fragile, à mon avis, que n'importe quelle antenne de radio portable pour autant qu'on ne la manie comme un bourrin. La qualité du HP n'est pas terrible mais avec son format mini, le RF760 ne peut pas intégrer un HP plus gros, donc de meilleure qualité, ce HP est néanmoins largement suffisant pour une écoute tout-à fait satisfaisante de la voix, pour la musique, on peut toujours lui connecter un enceinte externe ou une paire d'écouteurs filaires. Avec une antenne long fil, la réception passe à un cran supérieur. en bref, je ne peux que recommander à 100% ce petit récepteur qui se glisse facilement dans n'importe quel EDC ou poche. Après en avoir testé un 1er, j'en ai acheté un second pour offrir à un proche.
