Worked very well to match surrounding wall texture
After patching up a ceiling in our older home, I was having trouble replicating/blending the patched area texture to match the textured look that surrounded the patch (which had likely been created from the many layers of rolled paint over many years). My contractor told me he uses this stuff all the time when he works on older homes in the area, so I thought I'd give it a try. Long story short, it worked great and it blended in with the rest of the walls despite the extra challenge of it being on the ceiling rather than on a wall. It was fast and easy to use (and weirdly kinda fun to spray). A couple of tips before you use it: 1) Make sure you test the nozzle spray setting on a piece of cardboard to ensure you like the texture before spraying directly on the wall. I was surprised to discover that the "Fine" setting (supposedly creates the smallest bumps) was the right texture for me. I had assumed by looking at the pictures on the can of the different nozzle settings my wall would have needed the medium setting, so I am very glad that I tested the Fine setting first. 2) Open up windows and/or have air circulation in the room you're using it in. The odor is EXTREMELY strong. I only used it for about 5 minutes in a room with two cracked windows and I was already feeling a little light-headed from the strong smell. My wife could even smell it on a different floor. Good news is that the smell goes away in less than an hour. I highly recommend using this product instead of trying to dip your paint roller in plaster or wall mud to create the effect.

Good nozzle, fast dry time
Yeah, these are all too expensive. But at least some of them actually work pretty well, and this is one of those. The nozzle did a good job of spraying and the coarseness adjustment on it worked well. This oil based version dries very fast. As to coverage: Not much. This small can was used to add somewhat fine orange peel to a single re-taped wall corner...just a fairly few seconds of spraying a light spray...and it was about half used up. That was probably 6 sq ft., so where they get their 55 sq ft number on the item description is a mystery.

Helpful for small home repairs
I bought this texture spray because I had moved a shelf and needed to repair the anchor holes left behind. I didn't want to hire someone for such a small project, so I decided to give this a try. I followed the basic directions, shook the can well, and tested it before spraying the repaired area. It was easier to control than I expected, and I was able to apply light coats until the texture looked close to the surrounding wall. After it dried, I painted over everything, and from a normal viewing distance the patched area blended in fairly well. I did notice that keeping the spray moving gave me a more natural finish, while spraying too long in one place created a thicker texture. That was easy enough to fix after practicing a little. The smell was noticeable while I worked, so I kept a window open for better airflow. For small repairs around the house, this was a convenient option and saved me from trying to match the texture by hand.

Easy to use
Works well for a small patch job but it doesnโt seem to go as far and last as long as I would have liked but it did the majority of the area I was hoping to do. Once you start spraying you need to keep spraying till itโs out and make sure to knock down any of the bigger chunks

Disappointed with Amazon customer service
Clogged on first use then tried to do a return and Amazon denied the return. Now Im left with a 20 dollar can of orange peel that i cant use. Ive been a prime member for 15 years and this will definitely make me question certain purchases through Amazon and if the membership is even beneficial any longer.

Perfect for wall texture project
Ripped out some shelves from my wall and left lots of marks. After putting spackle the wall was patched but flat. This was easy to spray on and was consistent, although it does get messy. Recommend using a towel or paper under the bottle to control the spray area. Satisfied with how the wall came out.

It works well (when it works). Nozzle tends to become clogged
It has a strong petroleum smell. But, it adheres to drywall extremely well. Note: One can doesn't go very far. I barely covered about 24 square feet with one can (and I mean barely). Plus, the nozzle began to clog-up even though I was constantly shaking the can to keep it mixed. If you get some overspray on something, wipe it up while it's still wet. When this stuff dries, it is difficult to remove. You have to scrape it off. Other than that, it does what it's supposed to do. Update: I bought 4 cans. Two cans worked okay. On the third and 4th cans, the nozzle clogged-up immediately and the cans are unuseable. The contents of the cans has become pasty (like dried toothpaste), and clogs the nozzle. Very frustrating. Homax needs to re-design the nozzle !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
