Not very accurate I feel
Not sure these work well. Very hard to see any change in colour.

Ich finde es sehr schwer zu beurteilen, ob der Test wirklich ein zuverlässiges Ergebnis liefert. Die Farbveränderung ist kaum sichtbar, sodass man nicht sicher sein kann, ob ein erhöhter Bleigehalt vorliegt oder nicht. Dadurch bin ich mir unsicher, wie aussagekräftig das Testergebnis tatsächlich ist.

I got one of these on a whim to test some older dishes. I read the reviews, did some research and was prepared for them not to work. They WORK! We tested some flaking sliverplate utensils. LEAD. We tested some glassware from the 60s. Fine. We tested a lunch thermos. LEAD but only on the cap and built-in spoon. A random small metal shot glass. LEAD. Our everyday silverware. Fine. The hand of one specific spatula. LEAD. You dip the giant qtip in water and then run it across the item. If it darkens to match the key on the bottle it's lead. If it doesn't you're fine. We didn't have a lot of surprises but enough that we tossed some things, including the flaky silverplate-funnily enough the silverplate was the reading for lead and the white metal underneath was fine so yeah..garbage. Nice for peace of mind if you thrift or if you're given a bunch of dishes and you want to use them. I don't take chances with heavy-metal build up in my body so I'm glad I know now. Also I learned a fun tip. If you test one plate you can flip the qtip to test the next item and keep using the qtip if it doesn't change colour. Saves a lot of wastage. We went back with a different kit to confirm results so this absolutely works!

J'ai testé la fiabilité d'un écouvillon en le frottant sur un plomb de carabine et celui-ci a viré instantanément au violet. Je n'ai eu ensuite que des négatifs sur les autres surfaces testées (tant mieux pour moi). La couleur du négatif ne correspond pas tout à fait à celle présentée sur l'emballage, ce qui peut être un peu stressant au début, et s'éclaircit même par rapport à la couleur avant trempage dans l'eau. Aucune chance de confondre avec un test positif toutefois. Le coton pèle un peu vite, c'est dommage.

It’s pretty accurate, the color change was quick! Very easy to use - the comparison scale is right on the bottle. High value for the price - I no longer have 3 lead painted coffee mugs poisoning me and my family!

Prone to contamination of all of the swabs once the seal is broken. Poorly designed test kit. Gives false positives most of the time.
