First off, these lights are incredibly bright and illuminate my countertop beautifully. Update: In my original review I was using a power supply that was severely under-powered, so my disappointment was my own fault. When I switched to a power supply with 12v and 3A, they now are extremely bright. These are my first set of FCOB LED lights, so I learned a lot with these. Turns out, they’re a great product for a 3D printed DIY lamp! I like that it comes with all the wires and connectors needed to get started. It’s a fun and functional little strand of lights. And if you use a power supply with 12v and 3A, they’ll be very bright.

After a couple hours of wiring, sleeving, and cable managing a PWM dimmer switch to control these LEDs I was going to install inside a computer case, I did a test on the reel of LEDs before installing it all into the case and all I got was a faint flickering. After trying another dimmer switch to see if it was the problem, I still got nothing. In case the entire 16 feet was too much for the dimmer, I cut the strip down to the length I'm going to use——6.5 feet—and still got only a faint flickering. To rule out the LED power supply I was using, I tried connecting to a computer power supply. Still only a faint flickering. I tried shooting 12v directly into the strip and it lit up like the Sun. They look fantastic but I need to be able to dim them. I then dug out a leftover reel of LEDs which has a little over 7 feet on it and shot 12v to it. It worked great. Then I tried using the dimmer switch and I was able to control the LEDs from off to dim to full brightness. I reconnected the LED transformer and it still worked fine. That all rules out the dimmer switches and the LED PSU I got as being the problem. I don't know why these COB LEDs won't work with my dimmer switches but they are completely useless for me. Edit: The seller reached out to me and gave me a refund. I raised the rating by one star for good customer service.

I install a ton of led strips. Hundreds of feet every year. I’ve used so many different types and these have me coming back to buy more every time. Light output with this style is great. Consistent and does a pretty good job of not losing too much voltage by the end of the run. The double sided tape is fair but not incredible. In many cases of permanent installs you use fasteners of some sort or a channel/diffuser so it’s not much issue. If you have a good solid clean surface, these will stick and stay there. I’ve had a couple runs in my house running for over a year without any drooping.
