## Overview

The Celestron SkyMaster Pro ED 20x80 binoculars combine powerful 20x magnification with large 80mm objective lenses and premium ED glass to deliver ultra-sharp, color-accurate views. Featuring fully multi-coated XLT optics, a waterproof and nitrogen-purged rugged body, and a built-in tripod adapter, these binoculars are engineered for serious astronomy and long-distance terrestrial observation. Threaded eyepieces allow for advanced filter customization, making this model a top choice for millennial professionals seeking immersive, high-performance optics that stand out in any environment.

## Description

These SkyMaster Pro ED binoculars for amateur astronomers include 80 mm objective lenses, BaK-4 prisms, ED Glass, and Celestron's proprietary XLT coating technology. The 80mm objective lenses have light-gathering capabilities, delivering low-light performance, even in the dimmest conditions. The Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) glass virtually eliminates chromatic aberration, also known as colour fringing, a visual defect common in binoculars, delivering edge-to-edge sharpness with colour correction and razor-sharp images. SkyMaster Pro ED's eyepieces are threaded to accept standard 1.25" astronomical eyepiece filters. The SkyMaster Pro ED 20x80 mm's built-in tripod adapter allows the binocular to be attached to a tripod for added stability and acts as a balance rail by sliding along the centre support rod, for connecting a red-dot finderscope. Once you align it with the binocular, the red-dot finderscope will help you pinpoint your target in seconds. The polycarbonate and aluminium housing allows the binocular to be lighter weight without sacrificing its durability. The protective rubber armour is rugged and durable and can handle demanding use. The fully waterproof housing for all weather conditions provides peace of mind when unexpected weather occurs. The housing is also filled with dry nitrogen gas to prevent the internal lenses from fogging when moving between extreme temperatures or using the binocular in damp conditions. Bring distant objects into view with 20x magnification - for observing celestial objects in greater detail, searching for wildlife in the brush, or viewing a distant object on the horizon.

Review: Binocular Excellent - Carry bag not so - I purchased the SkyMaster Pro ED 7x50 version primarily for stargazing. I have never purchased a Celestron product before, nor an ED binocular though I have heard good things about them. The quality of this binocular is excellent for the price. The view through this binocular is nothing short of superb. In daylight the view is crystal clear and very bright, almost too bright. The image is razor sharp when focussed with almost no colour fringing. To my eyes the image seems even sharper than through a pair of Hawke 8x42 APO's I own. Comments made about the large eyepieces are accurate and I can see why they would be a problem for some non spectacle wearers. Fortunately I have to wear glasses all the time. Therefore this is not a problem for me. They are also quite heavy, so could be a problem for some with prolonged viewing. The only negative for me is the case, being not much more than a glorified carrier bag with next to no padding at all. But it's not worth knocking a star off for.
Review: Superb. - After loads of research and deliberation, I went for it. This is a spectacular set of bins for stargazing. As a new stargazer, these let me see the Pleiades cluster last night for the very first time. Emotional or what!! I’m going to have such fun with them. I’ll be using a tripod as they can be a bit heavy for a long session. Research already told me that. But wowzers. They will be brilliant for wildlife too. Did a test run on my way to work yesterday looking across towards the coast about 5 miles away. I could see the sandunes nice and clear. Just hope neighbours won’t think I’m a voyeur!!! Oh, had a quick response from tech support too to understand the ‘split’ in the loop on the lens covers. It’s for reason, not a fault. I’ll let you research why !!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Night sky comes to life
*by S***N on 18 November 2024*

Great for night sky observing, durring the day time buzzards and raptors are easy to see at a good distance away, one thing to note for night time use a solid suppoet is needed to keep them still due to ther weight. Execellent detail and of most major objects in the sky, somting to do while taking pictures of the night sky with an astronomy setup.
