Second one I've bought and still doesnt work** A: Do you have working batteries stalled and the switch in ON position? You have to touch the lighter to the red dot on the charcoal - it only works on this spot on the fake charcoal insert. **Q: The instructions don't say to put batteries in the fire starter, only the charcoal. Can anyone respond to if I need to put batteries in the lighter?** A: No batteries needed in fire starter. When the starter touches the charcoal, it "ignites!"
