Good songs, healthy amount of control and dirty guitar and general skills from the band as always. trademark vocals are awesome.

Love it!

I picked up on Oomph! from one of their much earlier albums "Unrein" and particularly the song "Gekreuzigt", which was a slab of hard and heavy industrial metal. "Monster!" and in fact the last three albums couldn't be further from "Unrein" and I love the direction. A grand departure, yes but a major progression, showcasing real talent, maturity and a good ear for a top notch tune and catchy chorus. Maybe some would consider it "selling out" but I don't because the songs have developed to such an extent that what's on offer is a superb listen with not a duff track anywhere to be heard."Monster!" is in my book far more consistent that "Wahreit...", strong production which harmonises the band rather than isolates one member from the other Oomph! are one strong unit.There will be inevitable comparisons with Rammstein and I've heard of Oomph! being described as "Rammstein-lite" - unfair at best, considering the only real comparison is both bands insistence on singing in their native tongue. I don't see why Rammstein fans haven't picked up on Oomph! as yet.I could wax lyrical about the individual tracks but I won't, suffice to say that "Wach Auf!" is addictive and it makes for a good alarm tone on the mobile phone.With so much good music around, I'm sure Oomph! will be off most people's radar...time to get acquainted.

I am an avid fan of Oomph. Lets just say i love every track of this new album. You may ask why i only gave it 4 stars?This is because i own everyone of Oomph's 10 albums and to be honest i prefer the older, rawer less mainstream edge of the band. Don't get me wrong this is a fantastic album but many hardcore fans ask is this the right direction for Oomph?

The album is great. Worth it.

Tolles Album mit guten Songs.Lieblingssongs "Beim ersten mal tuts immer weh" wo es um (versuchten)sexuellen Missbrauch an Kindern/Jugendlichen geht und das das prädestinierte Opfer die Rolle tauscht und sich am Täter rächt.Labyrinth gefält mirauch sehr gut , wo es entweder auch um sexuellen Missbrauch geht ("...Klopf, Klopf, laß mich rein laß mich dein Geheimnis sein..." ) oder darum das man geistig total die Kontrolle verliert."6 Fuß tiefer" fordert einen auf auf den Grund der eigenen Seele zu gehen um sich selbst zu erkennen"Wer schön sein will muss leiden" behandelt den krankhaften Schönheitswahnin "Sandmann" geht es um die Armut unter der viele Kinder leiden (wobei mir dabei der englische Text auf dem "Truth or Dare" Album besser gefält. da dort ganz Europa angeprangert wird und nicht nur Deutschland)"Die Leiter" ist der religiöse Song auf dem Album und beschreibt das nachdem Tod es bloss ein "Niemandsland"" aber keinen Himmerl und kein Paradies gibt."Lass mich raus" ist mein absoluter Lieblingssong , wünschte ich hätte ihn bei der Geburt meiner Kinder gehört, auch wenn man diese Geburt vielfältig also auch nicht-körperlich verstehen kann, z.B. als Geburt einer Idee."Revolution" gefällt mir wegen der Musik nicht so gut auch wenn ich die Aussage das man für sich und seine Überzeugungen einstehen soll sehr gut finde."Auf Kurs" ist ein wunderschönes Liebeslied , mit soviel Gefühl vorgetragen wie ich es Dero kaum zugetraut hätte."Bis zum Schluss" ist ein weiteres Lieblingslied von mir , wo es darum geht das man versucht um den anderen ,den man immer noch liebt, zu kämpfen und nicht einfach so aufgibt."In deinen Hüften" beschreibt die sexuelle Unüberlegtheit vieler Menschen obwohl doch immer noch die Gefahr sich ernsthafte Erkrankungen (wie z.B. AIDS) dabei zu hohlen sehr groß ist."Wach auf" naja gut anzuhören, versinbildlicht auch ein bisschen das Leben aber nicht ganz so meins."Geboren zu sterben" ein Obduktionsbericht der einem zeigt das man nicht ewig lebt."Brich aus" da wird meiner Meinung nach ein Komakranker /oder depressiver Mensch angefleht endlich um sein Leben zu kämpfen und wieder ins Leben zurückzukomen.Für mich ein Album voll mit Botschaften und mit vielen guten Songs, finde aber das "Wahrheit oder Pflicht" Album aufgrund der rockigeren Musik besser.

Si Oomph a raté le coche que Rammstein lui a piqué au niveau succès commercial, le groupe n'a en revanche pas à rougir de ses oeuvres comparé au géant teuton. Né bien avant son alter-ego, Oomph n'a pas su s'imposer au monde comme Rammstein l'a fait, et cela révèle bien les travers du music business, dont marketing et tendances sont les maîtres mots. Au cours de sa carrière, Oomph a toujours proposé des CD d'une haute qualité, et encore une fois ne déroge pas à la règle avec ce "Monster" hyper rentre-dedans, fidèle au style des allemands avec un métal teinté d'indus et d'éléctro du plus bel effet. Rythmique imparrables, mélodies bien trouvées, interprétation exemplaire... bref, "Monster" a tout pour plaire, dans la mesure où l'on se fiche des tendances. Une fois de plus, chapeau bas...
