Surviving to Drive: The No.1 Sunday Times bestseller as seen on Netflix’s Drive to Survive

There's the term "binge watching" for a series on Netflix etc and I do a lot of binge reading. I binge read this book as I thoroughly enjoyed it and couldn't put it down. It was marvellous!I'm a fan of Formula 1 and have watched Drive To Survive on Netflix in which the author features so this book was one that really appealed to me.It was a tremendous book with many funny and interesting stories! It was very insightful and it gave you an idea of what it's like to be an Formula 1 team principal and all of the behind the scenes work that's involved.If you're an F1 fan and haven't read this yet then I'd encourage you to do so. You won't be disappointed with it!

Have finished the book, and am still laughing. Such a good read

I’m an F1 fan and after Formula 1: Drive to Survive (2019+) premiered on Netflix, one of the breakout stars was Guenther Steiner, then Team Principal of Haas so I was really excited to read Surviving to Drive: A Year Inside Formula 1.It’s written with Guenther’s trademark wit and honesty. I’ve read lots of books about F1 but I feel like I got a real insider’s view of what it’s like to be in charge of an F1 team. A lot of these types of books promise a lot but end up being heavily sanitised but I don’t think the author knows how to be anything but brutally honest.It’s a season that begins with a lot of promise but quickly provides Guenther with plenty to have opinions about. After Russia invades Ukraine, Haas terminate their contracts with their Russian driver, Nikita Mazepin (replaced by Kevin Magnusson) and sponsor, Urakali. Haas’ other driver is Mick Schumacher (son of 7 x World Champion, Michael Schumacher) and when he makes a series of costly mistakes on the track, Guenther gets the blame from Mick’s uncle, Ralf and the German media for whom a Schumacher can do no wrong.It’s a shame that Guenther (and Drive to Survive’s other breakout star, Daniel Ricciardo) are no longer in F1 because the sports needs big personalities.

This book is written in the style of the way Guenther Steiner talks. His huge personality shines through the pages.Guenther Steiner is down to earth. He tells it as it is and he has a sense of humor.For the F1 fan, Surviving To Drive is a ‘must-have’ and a ‘must-read.’ You will relive the 2022 season and glimpse behind the scenes.Guenther Steiner is a good team man. He recognizes the need for everyone to pull together. “A team is only as good as the people it has working for it and we’ve got some of the best.”He also recognizes the need to get on with the other F1 teams for the good of the sport. “As much as I disagree with what this guy thinks … we have to remember that ultimately we all sit under the same tree.”I thoroughly enjoyed Surviving To Drive. The essence of Guenther Steiner leaps from the pages. It is a fabulous read for the F1 fan, whatever driver or team you support.

Guenther Steiner achieved fame not by starting the Haas F1 Team, but by swearing like a trooper at their results in his amazing Tyrollian accent in Netflix's "Drive to Survive". That accent (and the swearing) leaps off the page in this highly entertaining behind the scenes look at what makes a Formula One team tick and how busy a team principle really is. Not just for the fans, but also anyone who might be interested in how motorsport is run.

A great book from one of formula one's most colourful characters having read a few books about the behind the scenes of F1 it was great to get it from a team principles perspective about how the team goes about its business, it was also great to read some of Gunther's stories from his rally days a must read for any F1 fan

If you enjoy F1 You’ll love this book full of laughter and information

It’s impossible to read this without Guenther’s voice and accent in your head

expensive , but a good read , funny

If you know (and of coarse also like) Günther from the TV series, you're gonna love this read! It's written in his own words and unique style that we all know from the show (complete with swear words and all)! It gives a broader look into his life, both on and off the F1 racing circuit. Loved this book!
