Sharp knives are safer too because they do what you expect. These are great knives. Very sharp. Can cut a tomato without squishing. I eat a lot of salads and vegetable soups and these are perfect for cutting all veggies. Cheap enough so that when they get dull after a year or two of daily use, you can just replace them. I find this so much better than my high-end German steel knives that are a real pain to properly sharpen. Highly recommend.

A: The Victorinox website states all their knives are made Ibach, Switzerland

**Q: does this knife come with a sheath?**
A: No,but it is an excellent knife.  Stays very sharp.

**Q: what is the hrc hardness value?**
A: I don't know the HRC but I'm a stickler for sharp knives and these hold a good edge with just an occasional few swipes on a sharpening steel.

**Q: Can you put this knife in the dishwasher?**
A: Yes! Totally dishwasher safe. 

I love, love, love this knife. Highly recommend it. Get the pink one, easy to spot in the drawer and fun to use.
