Game-changer for occasional sleeplessness - truly helped me reset
I've been using Unisom SleepGels for about three months now on an occasional basis, and they have genuinely changed the quality of my rest. Unlike other aids that leave me feeling groggy or 'cloudy' the next morning, these 50mg gels help me drift off naturally within about 30-45 minutes. The 100-count bottle is great value and the gels are easy to swallow. One thing I've noticed is that they are most effective when I strictly follow a wind-down routine half an hour before bed. Highly recommended for anyone struggling with those nights where you just can't turn your brain off!

Pros & Cons
After decades of taking Ambien every night, I began to react to it differently. It seemed more potent and I was sleepy during the day so I decided to stop taking it, fighting the strong urge to go back to bed. I switched to take Tylenol PM Extra Strength, but then I wondered if there was something with just the sleep ingredient without the Tylenol (which I didn't need because I wasn't experiencing pain). I checked to see what the sleep aid was and then searched Amazon to see if there is a product that has just that one ingredient. The search brought me to a lot of options but I chose Unisom because of the combination of good reviews, affordable price, quick delivery, and it's a company I trust. However, after I ordered it I did some research on the sleep aid that's in it: Diphenhydraine -- the generic name for what, it turns out, is marketed under the brand name Benadryl. I take Benedryl for my allergies so I always have a supply on hand. I never noticed it made me sleepy, so I decided to cancel my order for the Unisom Sleep Gels for both reasons (not sleepy from taking a pill with the same ingredient and because I already had Benedryl in my medicine cabinet. But I was unable to cancel the order because it was being prepared for shipment. I decided to take the Unisom pill just to see if it did help with sleep. It has double the Diphenhydraine that's in Benedryl. Result: it did help me fall asleep, but I woke up every couple of hours. I'd never experienced that before. I was able to fall back asleep quickly each time I woke up, but I would rather find something that would give me uninterrupted sleep for about eight hours. Tylenol PM did that, plus a couple hours more at times. I ordered Unisom SleepTabs. Its active ingredient is Doxylamine Succinate -- something I never tried before, but will be taking it for the first time tonight to see how it compares to the other Unisom pills and to Tylenol PM. I found warnings that this differs from Diphenhydramine because the sleepiness may remain the next day (probably because it moves through the body at a different rate than Diphenhydramine, but that's just a guess). I want to find out if that's a problem for me. If it does help me fall asleep without waking me up several times during the night, it will be the one I choose. If not, I'll go back to Tylenol PM because it really works.

The pills are easy to swallow and don’t have any strong aftertaste
I tried Unisom to help with occasional sleepless nights, and overall, it works well if you need something to help you fall asleep faster. Within about 30–45 minutes of taking it, I usually start to feel relaxed and drowsy, which makes it much easier to drift off. Unlike some other over-the-counter sleep aids, I didn’t notice much of a “hangover” effect the next morning though if I take it too late at night, I do feel a little groggy when waking up. One downside is that it can sometimes leave me feeling dry-mouthed, and on nights when I didn’t get a full 7–8 hours of sleep, I definitely noticed a bit more sluggishness in the morning. It’s also not something I’d recommend using every single night it’s more of an occasional fix when you really need rest.
