NPN-NC Probe

I've had this for a year. normally closed version. It mounts in a 6mm collet. In my setup it's dead on in one direction and .0009" in the other. Z is dead on. Interfaces directly with tormach 1100mx. Red to +5, blk to gnd com, yellow to input pin on the 5 pin DIN connector.

I was really impressed with this touch probe! It works flawlessly on my CNC machine, making edge-finding and digitizing super easy. The tungsten steel ball tip feels durable, and the build quality is excellent. The wiring was straightforward, and the response is fast and accurate. Overall, a great product for the price!

This is "Deadly Accurate" it was with in 0.0004" out of the box ... until I crashed it and broke the stylist mount and need to replace it. The thing that helped me decide to purchase this was the parts catalog and the comment "1. if any listed parts needed, feel to con-tact us." Well, I do need a part listed, but nowhere can I find how to contact them .... or who/where to feel. I assume some day someone will tell me how to "feel" to contact them. However ... I did order another one IT IS that Good Mike

The product appears to work well. It is apparent that it uses a nonstandard USB type C cable. I tried to make one from a USB type C cable. Power and ground wires were present, but the signal cable did not connect. I am now trying to make a new mail connector with a type USB C breakout board that contains all 24 connections. It would be nice if the seller also provided another custom cable as an available option. I have both a mill and a router that I wish to use it on. Whatever you do, do not try to use a standard USB type C cable. Without modifying it, you will most likely damage your equipment.

The probe I received was the wrong type. Normally open instead of normally closed. Amazon and the seller refunded me. I was able to modify the PCB by adding a transitor and a bridge wire to convert it to normally closed. Normally closed means that if I forget to plug the probe, or a wire breaks, the CNC controller will think the probe is activated, stopping motion. Instead of the dangerous normally open, where the same scenario would let the machine continue its motion until possible destruction. The probe itself is very repeatable, to within 10μm.

I hooked up the three wires and it works great with acorn! Black to com on the H9 header, yellow to IN7 for probe tripped, red to IN6 for probe detect. The cable that comes with it is 6.6 feet. Using the default wizard settings the edge finder works perfectly.
