Amazing welder. I had never welded before but always wanted to get into it. I wanted a welder that could do both steel and aluminum and this is that welder. It’s easy to set up very straight forward and a couple of useful videos on YouTube that teach you how to use and set up this machine. It’s a very compact welder something you can throw in the trunk of your car if needed. If you are on the fence of getting a TIG welder I recommend that you get this just for the wide range of use.

This is my first experience welding. I got this machine because it is one of the cheapest welders that can do AC for aluminum. I did have an issue at first with the HF start not working. Support walked me through the process of adjusting the spark gap and it works great now. I'm not sure why it's not included in the manual, but the spark gap should be 0.8mm. Support was very responsive from YesWelder, and they speak fluent English! One minor annoyance is that the machine will not save the AC/DC setting. Every time I turn it on it is in AC mode and I have to remember to switch back to DC.

First one I bought had a cracked solder on the main board, gave it a second chance, next unit would have terrible arc starts, buzz in the torch itself, NOT the points in box. Both units the torch threads were crooked and things didn’t thread in straight. As a certified pipe welder, I bought this on a whim to see how it could handle aluminum. It DID put down an okay bead when it did work, HOWEVER: having two of these now and both were nothing but issues, I’d recommend buying something more reliable and predictable. Definitely get what you pay for.

This unit is amazing. It has the flexibility of much higher priced units. Sure , you’re not gonna weld with it 8 hours straight or do heavy welding but to do repairs or small fabrications it’s perfect. I’ve welded for 50 years and have never had such success welding aluminum with a TIG torch. If you need to do heavier welding just get a bigger unit.

So I am new to Tig. The advertisement of "Aluminum tig welder" for the square wave sold me. However, you don't need it to weld aluminum. I wish I knew that before I purchased it . I did however find using a foot pedal to control the heat makes things way easier. I purchased the yeswelder 5 pin foot pedal as well. I have been practicing for only a few hours. Took a while to understand how hot is too hot. I watched a bunch of videos online and found out having a pedal is the only way to go if you are learning. I used 3/32 blue tungsten at first and I ended up going to 1/8 for easier use. It's hard going from flux core MiG to Tig. Tig requires you to keep the arc at a specific height and don't pull the torch away like MiG. It's fun to learn new things! Way worth the challenge for sure. Will I be a pro? No. But I learned something and can add a new ability to my garage. Welder pros: This welder has a lot of features like adjustable upslope, downslope and frequency along with square wave, balance, pre flow and post flow. Much more than I'd ever need. Welding some aluminum plate, I was able to do some basic start and stop exercising and really trying to learn how to control my hand. The welder really is amazing. You really need to understand the process of it and just play around with it. For amps, I started off too high. Frequency I started off too low. My post flow wasn't long enoughh. After realizing I was burning through the aluminum I lowered the amps to about 50 and then I was able to not burn through. Again, controlling it with the foot pedal is best because you can see the weld pool and adjust your foot and cool it down or heat it up. My settings for 1/8 aluminum (AC) 60 amps ( max, controlled by pedal) Pre flow .5 Frequency 120 Post flow 5.5 Tungsten 3/32 blue Argon 15 CFH #8 gas diffuser The frequency is cool. You can tighten up the arc cone and make the arc really tight or smaller with a higher frequency. Really cool! Overall I'm pretty happy with this machine. I hope it lasts. Cons: The manual. No settings guide other than titanium. It doesn't even explain what each of the settings do. Just basic definition of the settings. I don't like how large to torch is. It is huge, like a MiG torch. Also the torch is an all in one. No separate line for the lead and gas. *I ordered a different torch and new hose. It is way better than the one that comes with the machine. I don't like the cheap push buttons for the various settings. I wish it had an LCD like other machines. It didn't come with a gas regulator. It didn't come with any tungsten.

Simply put this is a JUNK!!!. It won’t weld aluminum and mine was contaminating my argon. I believe it had some sort of a leak internally. All that advertisement it’s scam. When I returned seller didn’t want to return my money I had to call Amazon to get my money. Don’t waste your time and money.

Absolutely amazing machine. Professional welder here, experienced in aluminum fabrication and welding, bought this machine to rebuild boat transom and keel. Machine comes filled with all the same settings as expensive name-brand machines. Only complaint is it does not seem to have a base amperage setting for foot pedal control. Overall very happy with it.

Leaked argon all over the place due to faulty valve in machine.

Weather your a beginner or a professional welder this machine is a great choice especially at this price point I also bought the foot pedal to go with it. I needed an extra machine for an aluminum tig job I had coming up and this thing was fantastic for 1/8 th I did som 1/4 with it as well it’s only a 200 amp machine but it’s great. I recommend to anyone looking to get started tig welding it’s easy to set up and use. And has a lot of features for the price.

Amazing little machine for the price. Works extremely well for it's size, however the low amperage AC tig has issues triggering even the most expensive helmets. I've tried 5 different helmets ranging from Amazon brand all the way up to a Miller and it has the same problem. Just be careful with low amperage AC tig because you might get flashed accidentally unless you have a REALLY expensive helmet like a 3M Speeglas or equivalent.

Well worth the money even welded 12x2 flat aluminum for railing works good or just as good is my miller maxstar
