Is the scarf actually real silk?

Yes. There is a label --IN CHINESE--that says 100% Mulberry Tree Silk (I looked it up). Mulberry silk is historically a product of China, so they are getting their silk basically from the source. The city where the scarves are made is also known for major silk import and export companies. There are actually many different types of silk and silk weaves, weights of silk, etc. so if someone is only familiar with one kind, they may immediately think anything else is fake. The scarves I ordered were charmeuse, which means it has one lustrous shiny side, and a more matte side. The design is printed, rather than woven into the fabric, but you can see the design on both sides though one side is definitely brighter.

YES, it’s washable. Using neutral detergent when washing. Hand wash in cold water below 30℃ or dry clean is preferable.
