Superb quality dock with high specifications that make full use of a TB4 or USB 4 laptop port
I've tested my fair share of docking stations like these and I have to say that this is one of the best ones that I've used. It is also one of the most expensive coming in at about ยฃ300. I have another laptop dock that I previously regularly used that cost around about ยฃ120 and featured many similar (but lower specced) ports. I've been using this Plugable dock for a good few months now and this is what I've come to understand about it compared to my cheaper one. First things first, this Plugable hub is superb quality. The reason you're paying so much more is for the stability and the performance. The host connection (i.e. the connection to your laptop) should be a USB4 (40 GBPS) or a Thunderbolt4 connection to get the most out of this, although it will work fine with a lower speed (20 GBPS or 10 GBPS) port. However, with a full USB4 port, you will probably notice that you can get 10GBPS out of all three 10GBPS capable ports at the same time. This is quite different from my existing hub, which will do 10 GBPS out of one port at a time, but not multiple ports at the same time. In addition, the ability to drive 2x 4K 120Hz displays is well above the specifications of most other hubs that I've tried. 2.5 gig Ethernet is also a feature that is rarely seen on the cheaper models. A few Downtester speed tests showed me that this is true 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet. Everything is included that you would need. The power supply and included USB cable are both of very decent quality as you would expect - it would have been a shame if they'd spoilt the expensively made dock by including poor-quality cables! Happily, this is not the case. So do I recommend this to you? Yes, but only if you have a specific use case that requires a rock-solid, very stable, high-performance connection from your laptop's single Thunderbolt4 or USB4 port. If you have no need to drive high refresh rate displays, if you don't need the full 40 GBPS port throughput to the 3x 10 GBPS and 1x 5 GBPS USB ports or if you don't need 2.5 GBPS Ethernet then maybe this isn't for you. However, if you want something that is outstanding quality and that performs excellently (at a fairly premium price, it has to be said), this does the job superbly.

STOPPED WORKING - FIRMWARE ISSUE
I've used cheaper docks in the past which have worked well for the most part but we're unreliable with lots of inputs plugged in. They were not high throughput unlike this dock. I've had less headset / mic dropouts using this dock EDIT - NO LONGER WORKING AFTER I PLUGGED IT INTO MY LENOVO X1 CARBON GEN 6 14/12/2025 I plugged this dock using the correct cable into my lenovo thinkpad x1 carbon g6. I heard a sound, device look like it was charging, but no monitors or peripherals were connected. So I took it out. No I plugged it back into my "working" laptop, which was a Microsoft surface laptop. NO LONGER WORKS. No sound, no enumeration on Device Manager. Nothing. I turned the dock off, took out all cables (including power), held power for 30 seconds, left for 10 minutes, turned back on, connected ONLY my MS Surface laptop -- still nothing. I think its broken. I really cannot recommend this Plugable dock anymore because it completely FAILED after 1 attempt at connecting it to my Lenovo. Now it doesnt work at all on any laptop. Interestingly it works on my phone. It charges my phone and I can (weirdly) use mouse to control my phone. But this is useless. I need it to work on my laptops. It's clearly not bricked, otherwise it would not work on my phone. It could be a firmware issue. Will contact support as this is unacceptable for almost ยฃ250.

Rock solid. Pure quality.
This is an outstanding docking station. It's built like a tank, from obviously the best quality components out there and can take care of pretty much anything that you throw at it! Ok, so at first the requirement for a power-supply appears to be a bit of a negative, but for me it's actually a positive. The thing is, this docking station is likely to be more than powerful enough to actually be the power supply for your laptop, as well as everything attached to it, meaning that your 'old' power supply can then be repurposed to be your travel power supply. So, my original power supply now lives in my laptop bag, ready to go when I really need it - when on-the-go. When I'm at my desk though, this docking station powers everything when there. For me, it's a permanent addition to my desktop, not to be confused with 'other' less-powerful ones that are more designed to travel with you. Build of this docking station quality is amazing, with everything attached working at it's very best - so speed of data transfer is top-notch, as is network speed and the picture quality is also stunning. It might be seen as a fairly big investment, but when you realise what it can do, it's easy to see why and its very easy to come to rely on too. A really impressive bit of kit - maybe aimed more towards the professional market - but that's by no means a bad thing. Everyone who has seen it wants one and that's enough said in my books.

Nearly there
Mostly, this dock does exactly what's needed. I have a single 4K 60Hz monitor and several peripherals attached to a Dell laptop, and my old hub wasn't up to the job. The unit is very well built but has one major intermittent flaw - the unit gets quite warm during use (it's on a pull-out shelf under a desk); when this happens, my webcam (Logitech Pro C920) stops working, which can easily be in the middle of a video call. If I have a phone plugged into the front USB-A port, I can also see this dropping in & out of charging.

Sort of works with some quirks and limitations - Mac
Bought this as at the time it promised 4K120 via HDMI for M2 MacBook Pros plus the benefit of ethernet and USB ports. This dock WILL NOT give you 4K120 on a Mac and the description has since been changed on their own product page to reflect this. Separate to the display issue I get USB devices dropping out a couple of times a day, sometimes this is resolved by unplugging and re-plugging the device to the dock, other times it will not work at all and I need to connect the device directly to the Mac.

Easy setup. Plug and play for 2 x HDMI monitors
I already use a Plugable dock for my home office setup, so was pleased to be able to review this 11-in-1 docking station with my work setup I need to use dual monitors due to my visual processing issue and this dock is ideal for 2 X hdmi monitors to be connected up. Once setup, it's simply plug and play. Identify which is which monitor and setup on your screen appropriately. The additional pd charging is ideal for plugging in a a usb-c cable to charge devices alongside the laptop and screen setup, whilst benefitting from the faster power supply and charge. In addition, you have micro SD and SD card slots; perfect for laptops where card readers are limited. In use, I've not experienced any signific issues so far. It can get a little warm, but this is to be expected for a device this compact. Build qality is excellent. This is a well made device and it works well. It's also compact and takes up little deskspace when plugged in and setup. I haven't tested the ethernet connection yet, but anticipate it being a good way to connect to a cabled network in office or home. Image quality is good. I can't test 4k due to the monitors I use, but it certainly looks good. You'd need 2 x 4k monitors to get it to work that way. Overall, a decent laptop dock that will get plenty of use in my office.

Didn't work with my Dell laptop.
Been desperate for a docking station for a while now as I've had to hook up multiple monitors recently to my WFH laptop so I can keep up with the workload more efficiently. Problem is this comes with tons of cabling running all over the desk so was very much looking forward to having that addressed here. Unfortunately, I could not for the life of me get this docking station to work. Tried different cables, tried different plug sockets for power. Nothing was happening. I assume I've just been unlucky enough to receive a dud unit so I can't comment on it's performance unfortunately. However I will give it a star for build quality itself as it's built like a tank. A solid feeling metal box that did look quite sleek once I had everything connected. I just wish it had worked so that I could give it a proper go. Unfortunately I can't give any higher than a 2* here as I can only go off of my experience with it.

A mixed bag in a small box
There is plenty to like about this dock, the compact size and amount of inputs / outputs are obvious but its the features such as 20W power output from the USB-C which provides faster charging of devices connected if needed, it has support for 2.5G ethernet and the HDMI ports are 2.1 and allow for 120Hz displays. This isn't just the average set of ports thrown together, there has been some thought put into it. OK, so thats probably why its 300% more expensive than one of those cheaper 'dock on a stick' things you can also find on here but if you want premium features at the mintute that means premium prices. I will point out that this didn't seem to like a HDMI to DisplayPort cable being used, perhaps some conflict in the double-down on drivers to support it via the dock and I certainly don't have one let alone two 4K 120Hz monitors to test with so I haven't stressed this thing out at all but the future options are there and in the interim it provides a good experience and allows for a tidy work area. Having also tried the larger 4 port version of this I can say its just as good, just with less ports (which are actually better outputs).

The Swiss Army Knife of Connectivity
Rating: 4.5/5 stars Having experienced the Plugable USB C Docking Station Dual Monitor firsthand, I am eager to share my thoughts on this device. As a user who relies heavily on multitasking and extensive connectivity, the functionality of this device is quite impressive. From the outset, the build quality of the docking station is worth mentioning. It boasts a solid, sturdy construction that conveys durability. Its design is sleek and minimalistic, fitting comfortably into most workspace aesthetics. The absence of drivers for installation makes the setup straightforward and user-friendly; you just need to plug and play. This feature is especially commendable for those who are not particularly tech-savvy. In terms of performance, this Plugable docking station shines. The dual monitor support, with 4K HDMI 2.1 up to 120Hz, is a highlight, offering clear, high-quality visuals. The refresh rate is fantastic, lending itself to a smooth, uninterrupted experience whether I'm working on complex graphic design tasks, streaming video content, or simply handling everyday work. The inclusion of USB4 100W laptop charging is another significant advantage, as it eliminates the need for an additional power brick. Not only does it free up another power outlet, but it also reduces cable clutter on your workspace. The additional 20W USB-C charging port provides a convenient way to power up secondary devices. Another beneficial feature is the 2.5Gbps Ethernet connection. In an era where stable, high-speed internet is crucial, the ability to bypass Wi-Fi and plug directly into a fast Ethernet connection is a godsend. The 11-in-1 functionality makes this docking station versatile. With a single connection, it effectively transforms a laptop into a full-fledged desktop workstation. However, I would caution potential users to ensure their devices are compatible with the number of inputs and outputs on this dock. I do have a minor gripe. While the SD card reader is a welcome addition, its placement can be slightly inconvenient depending on your desk setup. It would be great if future iterations considered a more accessible location for this feature. In summary, the Plugable USB C Docking Station Dual Monitor offers excellent performance, versatility, and ease of use. It significantly enhances productivity and simplifies your digital life. Despite its minor shortcomings, it is an excellent investment for anyone seeking a reliable docking station. It's particularly beneficial for remote workers, digital professionals, and anyone needing a centralized, clutter-free workstation.

Plugable USB-C Dock: Third Time's the Charm for Dual 4K Gaming Bliss
After a rocky start with two faulty units, I finally found success with the Plugable USB-C Docking Station Dual Monitor. This experience, while initially frustrating, highlighted the exceptional customer support provided by Pat Pennell, who went above and beyond to ensure my satisfaction. The docking station's standout feature is its ability to drive my dual Samsung 32" Odyssey Neo G8 UHD Quantum HDR2000 Curved Gaming Monitors at an impressive 120Hz refresh rate. The visual experience is nothing short of stunning, with crisp 4K resolution and smooth gameplay that truly showcases the capabilities of my high-end monitors. One of the dock's strengths is its plug-and-play functionality. Once properly set up, it seamlessly integrates my laptop with my dual-monitor setup using a Thunderbolt 4 connection, creating a powerful workstation with a single cable connection. The ability to charge my laptop while simultaneously powering both displays is a significant convenience. However, it's worth noting that I've encountered some limitations with the number of USB ports available on the dock. For users with multiple peripherals or external devices, this could be a potential drawback. I found myself needing to prioritize which devices to connect directly to the dock and which to connect through a separate USB hub. Despite the initial setbacks, the final product has proven to be a reliable and capable docking solution. The dual 4K@120Hz support is a game-changer for both productivity and gaming, offering a level of visual fidelity that's hard to match. In conclusion, while the journey to a fully functional setup had its challenges, the end result with the Plugable USB-C Docking Station Dual Monitor has been largely positive. The combination of high-performance display support and excellent customer service makes this a solid choice for users seeking a premium dual-monitor docking solution, provided you can work around the limited USB port availability.

Horrible dock claiming to support 65W charging and dual monitor
This dock has had issues after issues. I have tested this on three different computers all running into the same issue. I specifically paid a premium for a higher quality dock that claims to support charging a 65W laptop and run two monitors in parallel, but this dock falls EXTREMELY short. It seems to be capable of only charging. It claims to support up to 100W of power but does not work. My new laptop uses a usb-c thunderbolt port to both charge and be used as a display but when the dock is plugged in the monitors go blank and only my laptop charges. I thought it was maybe a power draw issue, so I tried to plug in the charger in one usb-c port, boot up my laptop and then plug in the dock so the power should be supplied from the charger and still nothing. Customer support from pluggable has been pretty deplorable. We've gone back and forth almost 2 weeks, and they have not helped with anything. Most laptops nowadays are migrating to usb-c chargers / display ports and for a dock bought less than one year ago in 2024 to already not support this is mind boggling. Can't tell you how badly to stay away from this product / company.

perfect match for 4k 120 Hz DUAL monitor (Windows 11)
That was a perfect match for my needs. Third thunderbolt device that i tried (first from this vendor), and finally I was able to make it work with 2 monitors 4k and 120 Hz at the same time. no any hidden clauses that "only if" or misinformation in description, that you have to catch before buy. This one simply worked as it stated. Very solid device, recommend for work. I personally tested it with Thinkpad X1 Yoga Gen 6 Windows 11 Pro

Best dock I have used, works with a MacBook Pro
Many docks can't reliably connect to external monitors and some don't even work at all. This Plugable dock works and is the best dock I have used save for one minor one mentioned later. My setup is simple. The laptop is a MacBook Pro with an M2 Max chip. The MBP's ports are Thunderbolt 4/USB4-compliant, an important detail. The monitor is a Dell ultrawide display connected over HDMI. I have a basic USB-A mouse and a USB-C keyboard. A single USB4 cable connects the dock to my laptop to connect all of my peripherals and provide an ample 100W of power. It has not been necessary to use another charger. The monitor displays a picture in a few seconds, reliably. Opening or closing the laptop to switch between one and two screens is very responsive and takes a fraction of a second. My only issue was the dock would not fully power on at first. The power light would blink indefinitely. Unplugging the power cable from my power strip and plugging it back in solved this issue and I have not had a problem since. I have not tried the Ethernet port nor a second external monitor. My peripheral needs are simple but I need reliability. This dock has performed great so far. Two months later: the dock is still good but the coil whine from the AC adapter has become noticeable at night when it's quiet. I wish Plugable offered a higher-quality AC adapter with better sound dampening.
