Here's how it works; this innovative kitty litter includes color-changing silica crystals to help monitor your cat's health. Simply compare the Smart Cat Color Guide within 2 hours of your cat's trip to the litter box to see if they may need a trip to the vet. Meanwhile, this highly absorbent, non-clumping cat litter formula allows for easy maintenance with no lumps of urine to remove. Plus, the long-lasting litter box odor control will keep your home smelling fresh. Keep your cat's well-being up to date with the most veterinarian-recommended kitty litter brand for everyday use (Veterinary Survey 2022, Front Group) by bringing home Purina Tidy Cats Tidy Care Alert Crystal Litter. (Note: This litter is not a test to diagnose, cure, prevent, treat or mitigate diseases. Discuss color changes with your veterinarian) Directions First, you’ll need to establish what color is “normal” for your unique cat. This will be your baseline for all future color comparisons. ESTABLISHING YOUR BASELINE: 1. Start with a clean box. Fill with 2 to 3 inches of Alert. 2. Within 2 hours of use, compare litter crystals to color guide. 3. Keep observing the color, since it can vary naturally throughout the day, particularly 1 to 2 hours after eating. After 5 days, determine the most common color within the normal range. This is your baseline. NOTE: If the color remains outside of the normal range, call your veterinarian. READING YOUR RESULTS: Once you’ve established a baseline color for your cat, monitor the litter box daily. If you see a color that is consistently outside the normal range—and it persists for more than two days—it’s time to call your veterinarian to discuss next steps. CONTINUING USE: 1. Scoop solids daily to ensure optimal absorbency. (No urine clumps means easy maintenance!) 2. Stir frequently, adding Alert as needed to maintain 2- to 3-inch depth. 3. After 20 to 30 days (for one cat), dispose of used litter, wash box using mild detergent, dry, and refill with 2 to 3 inches of Alert litter. NOTE: Cleaning box with bleach or adding baking soda deodorizer can alter color results. ## Features - Purina Tidy Cats Tidy Care Health Monitoring Non Clumping Cat Litter with Silica Crystals features pH detection technology that changes colors to help monitor cat health - Long-lasting ammonia litter box odor control - Highly absorbent non clumping cat litter crystals - This health-monitoring crystal cat litter is made with safe ingredients and brought to you by Purina Tidy Cats, the litter brand most recommended by veterinarians for everyday use (2024 Veterinarian Survey, Forward Group) - Low dust and lightweight multi-cat litter formula offers easy maintenance, with no clumps to remove. Once your cat’s baseline color is established, persistent changes may indicate potential health concerns and are a visual cue for you to call your veterinarian. **Q: Can Tidy Care Alert cat health litter change color if my cat is not sick?** A: Yes, many things can impact urine pH, like eating, hydration, urination frequency and stress. If you see a consistent shift from your cat’s baseline for 2 days, it’s time to call the vet (red indicates blood and must be called in right away). **Q: Does the color change fade or go away?** A: Yes, the color change happens quickly, and will naturally fade over time. It’s best to check the color of Tidy Care Alert smart cat litter within 2 hours of your cat visiting the box for an accurate reading. **Q: Why do I need to stir this crystal litter?** A: Tidy Care Alert crystal cat litter absorbs urine and odor on contact. Stirring the litter ensures all pieces are used equally and aerates it, keeping it at its maximum performance for both absorbency and odor control. **Q: Is Tidy Care Alert silica cat litter safe if ingested?** A: Silica cat litter is non-toxic, and all Tidy Cats litter components go through safety reviews by veterinary toxicologists. However, eating any non-food item could cause GI upset, so please consult your veterinarian if your cat or dog ingests litter. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Brilliant product *by on Reviewed in Australia 17 January 2025* … the best cat litter we’ve ever used! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Cost effective and good quality *by on Reviewed in the United States 6 August 2026* I’ve had this on auto ship for over a year. The bag will last a month for one cat. Works better than pretty litter in my opinion, and for a better price! No odor. ## Frequently Bought Together - Purina Tidy Cats Tidy Care Alert Cat Health Monitoring Non Clumping Cat Litter with Silica Crystals - 8 lb.
