Great gift item!

I bought this to gift to my mother thinking it would have celebratory, uplifting poems. Needless to say, I did not gift it! I thought the poems for the most part were very negative and depressing, especially to recent widows like my mother. If you're looking to make someone feel bad about their age, this is your book. Otherwise, steer clear!

Each vignette is a page long. All spot on about aging. Great fun! Gave it my sister for her 80th and she loved it.

I have read all of Viost's Decades Books, and have enjoyed them immensely.

I am holding off reading her book about the 90th decade, as I have ten years until I get to that milestone. love Judith Viorst, and this was a pleasant discovery. am giving it to several octogenarians as a gift.

I didn’t buy it for myself, but for several friends who have turned 80 recently. They all loved it. I have more to get later this summer.

Judith is priceless no matter what age, BUT if your around this age, it's especially insightful.

My wife and I have read each of Judith Voirst's decade collections of poetry and benefitted from every one.And don't be put off by the fact that she is an American psychologist.
