I'm very new into the world of rockhounding. So far, this hammer has been a great addition to my hobby. The price was right, and it does just what I needed to do. It's strong enough and sturdy enough for what I need. No complaints from me.

I had been looking for a reliable, sturdy and inexpensive prospecting hammer for a few weeks when I found this on Amazon. On paper, it met all of my requirements, it is very rugged and tough, I've already used it to chip away at crevices in rocks in my prospecting adventures and I couldn't be happier with the results it provides. It's 22 ounces, and very strong, I don't need to worry about breaking it, the worst I can see happening is I will need to resharpen the pick after a few years. Other than that, I don't see any issues arising. The handle has a nice, solid rubberized grip to help ensure positive handling while using the hammer/pick, it's non-slip and really cushions the blows against your palm while you're using it. What a massive find, I can't say enough good things about this rock pick/hammer! The one drawback to it is you are only allowed to order one at a time. I wanted two so my wife can have her own while we're out prospecting, but that's not a big deal, I'll just order another one now that this one has arrived and proven itself worthy. Absolutely worth a 5-Star rating all-around!

I like the size for ease of carry, and has plenty of heft for small jobs. Used this weekend and held up pretty good. Broke up some rock looking for minerals and it held up well. Held it's point and face without bending or spalling off. I purchased mostly for crevassing while out panning and sluicing so didn't need a high dollar pick, and expected it to be mostly chinesium metal, but was pleasantly surprised. Held up as well as the brick hammers I've used in masonry (19 years) will buy another if this one wears out

I was somewhat surprised at the weight but it is a solid and durable rock hammer for a great price. This is the type of tool for anyone into hunting, mining, stone/rock masonry, chipping rock, archaeologist, and prospecting.The other end has a pointed sharp tip which is also handy when chipping rocks etc. The rubber grip makes it easy to handle. The rock pick hammer seemed well made and was a very good value for the price, it doesn't have the name brand of the classic EST Wing Rock Pick Hammer, but for a budget option or occasional use appears to be a very good option. As far as I can see it is just as advertised a solid one piece steel hammer, the materials look like they are good quality. No visible defects or rough casting, edges are well ground with no sharp edges. Handle appears to be a solid piece of steel within a rubber grip. Over all the hammer is about 22 ounces so it is midway between a standard weight 30 Oz Rock hammer and a light 13 Oz rock pick, overall length is 11 inches, head is just under 7 inches long and 13/16ths of an inch wide tapering to a semi blunt point (wedge shaped) 3/ 16ths of an inch high. Seems like a good functional hammer, use will confirm if it holds up.

My wife and I spent 2 days at a pay to dig opal mine. This thing did exactly what we needed. The only weak part was ME…. Guess I’m no longer 19 🤣

Great to bust up snow Crete! If I hadn’t purchased this, I would not have been able to get out of my house at all. My fiancé busted up a path in the snow Crete that was literally 16 inches thick. It took a LOT of effort but with this, the chunks just came up quickly and he could just throw them off to the side so that I could get down the hill from my house to my car. Craziness but this thing works like a charm.!!

I dug a 12 in deep, 15 inch wide and 22 ft long trench in my rocky driveway with this little pickaxe. Heavy enough to break the soil/rocks but light enough to not get you exhausted with the first 10 min. Absolutely excellent tool. Love it.

Not exactly a kids hammer, which it was bought for to go with a geology kit present …. But…. my six year old feels very important with his full size (heavy) rock hammer. It’s legit, not a toy! Needs a responsible user for sure, but very useful!
