Small but mighty
This thing is actually really quite good for what you would expect. I'm not going to say its some awesome welder, but it is super compact, runs off of my inverter set up in my truck and fixes broken things on the trail with hot glue gun ease, bevel your thick parts and run some passes and it will hold. This, an angle grinder and a pack of discs and you are going to fix whatever breaks. It welds smoothly, the single dial amperage setting adjusts the wire speed to match pretty well, comes with some spare parts as well as what you need to swap to thicker wire(1mm). Impressive.

This Thing Has More Modes Than a Transformer
Very impressive machine for the price point. The multi-process capability makes it ridiculously versatile whether you are doing MIG, flux core, stick, Lift TIG, or spool gun aluminum work. Synergic controls make setup easier for newer welders while still giving enough adjustment for experienced users who enjoy tweaking settings like they are tuning a race car. Arc stability is solid, power output feels strong on both 110V and 220V, and the machine runs smoother than expected for a compact unit. Also earns points for not sounding like it is actively suffering during heavier welds. If you are the type of person who keeps randomly inventing new fabrication projects at 11 PM, this machine absolutely enables that behavior. Overall, versatile, powerful, and an excellent all-around welder for garage, shop, or mobile work.

Good value
A good entry level welder that nonetheless offers considerable versatility. The machine is attractive and well built; it is manufactured by "Hitbox" which is a relatively well know brand of Chinese welding equipment; the unique display is one of their brand trademarks, you will not see it on machines from any other company. The welder is currently being offerd at a discount, which makes it a very good deal. The display is especially nice, being unique, intuitive, and easy to see. You get both your gas and gasless MIG, MMA (stick), and lift TIG modes of welding. To utiize the lift tig, you need to obtain your argon gas bottle, a regulator/ flowguage, and a manual gas valve TIG torch. The machine is shipped with a euro connector MIG torch, and a stinger ground lead pair of cables. The weight and size are very convenient, and it works off of 220V single phase supply, or at reduced amperage utilizing 110V supply. The wire feed mechanism is a mid level model made of metal and plastic; the feed roller is a readily available and standardized as to size and mounting. The instruction book covers multiple models so it is a bit difficult to realize what pertains to just this machine, but it's pretty intuitive as to operation, in that there are 3 synergetic modes, 2 mig, one stick, that can be easily overidden should you desire that.. A good machine for home, DIY, maintenance or light industrial.

If it delivers promised performance, will be great
This is a unique welder package. The marketer? HZXVOGEN, (HITBOX is the manufacturer), declares a two year warranty, if it is honored in a practical sense, that is a plus, as many machines offer nothing. To begin, the item was packaged upside down in the carton, no damage, but just saying. Like many modern Chinese machines, it incorporates multiple functions, the most interesting of which is the promise of aluminum mig welding, which is a very troublesome enterprise at best. Without attempting a primer on this art, suffice to say material preparation as regards cleaning and preheating are important and not usually discussed, and need to be investigated by the purchaser if new to the process. The ongoing problem of poorly written and translated manuals once again appears here. I can not understand why the importance of this issue is lost on the Asian manufacturers. Here it begins to come to the surface when, while there is mo mention of "pulse mode" in the manual, the photos of the product tout "pulse" as an advantage over competing machines. After scrutinizing the photos, searching for a pulse control, and finding none, I surmised that it must be that when one of the two available aluminum welding modes is selected, the pulse is automatic. This would account for the appearance of the precise aluminum welds shown in the photographs. What is covered in the manual, again related to aluminum welding is the guidance to use the mode control to select betweem MMA, (stick), welding and "pneumatic mode". I am unsure if this is a synonym for "spray transfer" or "pulse", but it appears necessary to activate this function to have the machine weld aluminum successfully. It seems what they are actually saying is to choose one of the 2 aluminum welding options on the control knob that also serves to select MMA, (stick) welding! Definitely something lost in the translation there! Too much guesswork for my tastes, especially for a machine likely to be purchased by new users and learning welders, some might enjoy the detective work, but a proper manual should hold no secrets, and it should allow essential information to be clearly evident and not obscured: this is advantageous to the manufacturer, so again, why do they invest so little in generating clear and concise manuals? The machine has two large combined volt/ amp knobs that also allow the various modes to be chosen and that display volt and amp values in their center, which remains stationary, while the outer ring rotates to adjust the value. At first glance this large size seems great, but once you lay hands on, you realize that the leverage afforded by such a large knob that is not somehow supported at the edges, is definitely going to stress what seems to be a very small diameter shaft in the center of the control. The feel is very flimsy with lots of play evident in the rotating outer ring, It would not take much to snap the complete knob off, and I have serious doubts about the longevity of the control itself.. A bad design totally inappropriate to something that will be used in a fabrication environment be it amateur or professional. There is plenty of room for grit and debris to find it's way between the outer ring and the hub, and the control itself is mounted on a PCB behind the machine panel, so there are two large through holes in the machine panel that can allow grit and debris to infiltrate the case. I say all this because I do shop work, and can not understand why these promising devices are hamstrung by these type of problems again and again. So, at this point the review is based solely on unboxing and physical examination. I would expect performance of gas and gasless mig for welding steel, and stick welding to be up to par as these days, performance of standard processes vary little, although many machines do show a lot of variation as regards the types of stick electrodes that the run successfully, sometime falling flat with 110 input and then doing much better with 220 input. The detachable eurospec torch is a plus, both for storage and transport, and that potentially you could source a second torch to have dedicated to aluminum, which would eliminate the need for changing out the liner repeatedly. The torch has a short current lead terminating in a DINSE plug that is used to provide current and switch polarity by plugging into the front panel connections, so you would have to find a second torch so equipped or figure how to modify a standard eurospec torch to match this configuration, (probably not too difficult, but again, user time and effort required. I will update this review as I do actual welding with the machine, but for now these are first impressions that raise some valid concerns. If the weld performance of the machine, especially with aluminum, is satisfactory, at this price point, it is still a relatively good deal especially for the hobbiest or DIY user. I think the control knob issue alone might rule it out for any real hard use environment, my opinion! I already envision some type of retrofit of some material placed between the big control knobs and the panel inside the machine that they are mounted on to limit the amount the knobs can deflect, and seal the openings, but you know, that is the factory's job! WELDING UPDATE: Starting with the most basic, MMA, (stick welding). You do not buy a machine like this if you want a stick welder, but as more and more machines offer this multi function setup, I think it is important to assess how well the "swiss army knife" aspect delivers functions that are legitimately useful. I had 1/8" 6013 and 3/32" 7018 on hand, both ran well in the recommended amperage range with 220V input power. The arc was smooth, stable, and quiet, not bad at all. When switching to 110V however the machine struggled with the 7018, starts being much more difficult, with some tendency for the arc to extinguish along the way. I would add that machines vary as to maximum amps available between 220V and 110V input, some deliver the same range while others deliver a truncated upper limit when powered by 110V, this machine falls into that category. I would say without actually testing, that running 6010 or 6011 would not be within the capabilities of this machine. In this respect it is par for the course, as most of these small inverters do not like those rods. Moving to MIG, Connecting the torch was a bit problematic, although it should not be, the problem seemingly being the small "o" ring on the gas prong of the torch apparently being too large, and therefore preventing the complete insertion of the torch into the socket. Ultimately it shaved itself to the correct size! The next process that I tested was flux core MIG. Using .030" E71T-GS wire. The machine delivered good performance in both 110V and 220V input modes. The synergetic function worked great, I simply chose amperage, and the digital control selected voltage was coupled to it, however there does not seem to be any real way of overriding the digital control to any large extent, only by small fractions of a volt, and again this is not covered in the manual . The feed motor was silent and seemed strong, it uses readily available drive rollers and is a newer plastic bodied design that falls in between the smaller plastic bodied drives usually seen and the larger metal bodied drives. These components are relatively standard on Chinese welders, being sourced by multiple manufacturers. The machine also accepts both large 10 pound, and small 2 pound wire spools, with the mount being secure and easy to tension. Welding with Argon/ CO2 was as expected, nice arc and good performance with both 110V and 220V input. I ran some nice beads on lap and butt joints on 3/16" flat bar, with .030" ER70S-6 solid wire. To set-up for aluminum welding, there is a graphine torch liner included, and it needs to be installed to assist the soft aluminum wire to travel through the torch smoothly. Also included is a "U" groove feed roller specifically for the aluminum wire, which must be installed on the wire feed assembly. Switching the liners was a bit of a chore, the standard liner was a very tight fit and required a fair amount of force to remove it. The graphine liner hung up in a couple of spots and required a lot of fiddling.. Once inserted the liner, which is longer than required, needs to be trimmed to length and secured by a collet and gland nut making sure it is fully inserted up to the rear of the torch tip before cutting. I had 1.2mm ER4043 aluminum wire on hand, so even though the infamous manual says to use ER5356 wire, the machine has settings for both, so I installed the the U groove roller that was included, and installed a 1.2mm tip. They recommend, as do others using a one size larger tip, but that is all I had, and that was also what they included with the machine. I flap wheeled and DA sanded the 1/8" aluminum sheet, removing the heavy oxide layer and wiped it down with acetone. My intent was just to run a few beads and see what results developed. Well to my amazement this little unit just went right to it and produced more than acceptable results. As I suspected there is some type of built in pulse that can be clearly observed and heard in the welding arc. I can not stress how satisfying it was to after truly struggling to understand this machine with the sad documentation as support, get through all the testing phases with this great finale', So what is my verdict?, definitely thumbs up despite what I feel are my valid concerns and criticisms, this is a lot of real world welding function in a small and inexpensive package, I have quite a few welding machines come through my door, and this one definitely surprises. I have to be honest I was getting frustrated trying to decipher what they were trying to say in the manual and translate that into operating the machine properly, so much so that I was close to putting it back in the box and returning it. Providing such documentation would be the greatest improvement that could be made to this machine, followed by perhaps a clear hinged acrylic cover to protect the control panel, and some additional support behind the two main control knob assemblies. So yes I do recommend this machine, it is a pretty good deal.

Works good on mower decks
Wasn’t sure if it was gonna be big enough to weld my mower deck it was well and more than enough. I was welding 16 gauge metal and the mower deck was 1/8 had no problem welding deck together the wall was big enough to handle the thicker metal on the mower deck. It was definitely worth this money. Nice product.

Fantastic little welder for small jobs
Ive been a welder for the railroad for 13 years so I can give you a real life review here.... HOW can they offer something this capable for this cheap? Im blown away. This little guy is perfect for a home projects, the duty cycle is very low but that doesn't bother most weekend warriors anyway using it to tack together metal or small distance welds. I have used tome 3/32nds 7018 rods to repair our gate with it and welded a small tool box to a trailer with some stitch welds and it did an awesome job. Overall a great garage welder for the small projects.

Little box packs a BIG punch
I bought this little MIG welder to do some light stuff here and there, but to my surprise with this thing being a 145A it actually does a really good job on some of the bigger stuff I have as well. It's nice that it does the dual voltage 110 and 220. The build quality is perfect, the size is nice and compact and it was a great value for my money. Oh and it's very lightweight as well which is nice for packing around. I would definitely recommend this to others looking for a lightweight powerful little machine.

Supply rating ?
This unit is rated at 5.5 kva which is well over the 13amp 3kva plug supplied this supposedly means it will overload the supply so expect to blow fuses. Well made, earth is actually attached and power switch is double pole.
