I've gone through a 4.2 oz bottle and thought it was great. As I've crossed 50 I've moved away from some of the younger stuff that I have unless I'm hanging at home and need some nostalgia. The house favorite is Dior but I never hear complaints about some old school, noticeable cologne that triggers memories, even if nobody can say for certain what it is. That said, as established as this L'Eau D'Issey is, this doesn't come off as dated or overly worn out. Its citrusy, woodsy, musky, aquatic light scent is complex but settles quickly. Sillage is good if not great. Longevity varies for me. 6 hours or so is typical.

The scent is nice for an everyday cologne to put on in the morning to help you wake up in the morning and start your day off on a good note. The problem is that the scent goes away after what feels like 40 minutes even though it actuality it lingers for a few hours. I would advise investing in a parfum and paying a little extra money to invest in an everyday cologne that at least stays strong until after lunch or for a few hours while you eat dinner and go for a movie.

I also have never thought too highly of this fragrance in the past, as some of the other reviewers, it is pretty simple. It is very easy to categorize & stereotype this fragrance in the aromatic citrus genre, which has been played out to death since inception of Aqua Di Gio. However, with that said, it isn't L'Eau D'Issey's fault. L'Eau De Issey was introduced to us before every one went the citrus aromatic route. This is probably the-e-e original fresh scent from the 90s and the best of the bunch when compared side by side. I ask that you try Bellagio, Aqua Di Gio, and L'Eau D'Issey side by side. Yes, they have similarities however Issey Miyake's take is simply more refined, natural (herbal), well balanced, least offensive, and arguably the longest lasting fresh scent (I get 16hrs on my skin). Add to that its a mega compliment getter and you have a formula for success. The only downside to this fragrance, depending on where you live, is that because of its popularity, everyone may know what you're wearing. Although I was never a fan of this juice, after retrying it recently with an open mind, and after experiencing many other wannabe's throughout the years, I have to say that this is definitely one of the best fresh scents to date which is versatile enough to wear any time of the year and works well as a signature scent. Yes, it is a safe scent but it is done very, very well...not much to complain about, really.
