My daughters absolutely love this metal detector. It’s great for discovering hidden treasures. It’s easy to use, accurate, and effective at detecting different types of metals. Low level noise and lightweight.

I bought this metal detector to help me find something I'd lost in the garden. Once assembled and set up according to the instructions, it couldn't detect reliably any of the pieces of metal I put on the ground in front of it and when it did detect something, it couldn't distinguish between different types of metal with any accuracy. It was like a bloodhound with no sense of smell.It made a lot of noise: beep beep: sometimes it thought it might have found something, then it changed its mind. This is hopeless if you're going to have to dig down because you might as well dig up the whole area and sieve the soil instead – it would be lot quicker. Either the product I received is faulty (inadequate quality control) or it doesn't work as advised (dishonesty).I suggest you don't buy one.

I bought this detector in the hope that it would do a specific job for me. I've never owned a detector before but anticipated that it would cope with a simple task for me.There's a long version to this story, but essentially I'm looking for steel discs, approx 10 inches in diameter, with a metal spike in the base, installed on golf fairways to signal the yardage to the target greens.In the winter these tend to get overgrown and pressed deeper into the ground by heavy machinery such as ride on mowers. I'm trying to find these and thought a metal detector would be just the ticket.However I just get random momentary beeps and nothing that screams "I've definitely got something here". I'd have expected a continuous tone in such instances.So, do metal detectors not find steel?Is there a more suitable model?I've even placed the detector over a disc that hadn't been lost below the turf, and still it didn't give a confident alert.I fear I may have wasted my money. That's not to say the device is faulty, it just doesn't seem to be up to the simple task I bought it for. 🤷
