But they didn't pick up the bass tones, so I bought this. This bass pick up was the cheapest I could find on amazon. I clipped the pick-up to the bridge and I also clipped the pick-up lead to the bridge, which improved the volume (maybe the pick-up could be clipped on better I'm not sure yet). I put it through a 5 band equaliser on a Fostex desk and got a satisfactory tone. I suspect that if I had spent £50 more I would have gotten a bit more bottom end for my buck. Even so, there's nothing wrong with the tone spectrum it reproduces. It's good enough for recording and gigging. Works well, but you will need a pre amp or amplifier with low impedance as the volume is VERY quiet. Only complaint is that it is very boomy and subject to a lot of feedback, so I usually have to cut 60HZ using the EQ on my amp.
