I didn't even know you could replace this part. The one that came on my nice, expensive, Serta chair tore. I did research and stumbled across this particular unit and ordered one. I don't usually gush over a product but, OMG, I was so utterly impressed when I got it and compared it to the busted one from my chair I went and ordered one for my other chair right away. These are so solid! They make the unit from the, I repeat EXPENSIVE, Serta chair look like toilet paper. I am an engineer. These are extremely well designed and the gauge of metal is heavy. They have flanges in all the right places to make the whole unit rugged. Just a note, I am ~400lbs and these are my go to solution. We have been using these for several months now. 6 stars, two enthusiastic thumbs up. I am not a robot and have not been compensated in any way. We love these. Saved two very expensive chairs and to be honest made them both more comfortable and less wobbly. Job well done. Job very well done.

Measure carefully. This chair mount is a BEAST.. The construction is impressive. It is ROCK SOLID. However due to my own incompetence I did not measure correctly for my wife's chair. Yes, she laughed. If this will fit your chair, I highly recommend this mount. By it's construction, I would say it would out last several office chairs.

Heavy as described

Better build quality of the one I repaced and that was a $250 chair. Bought for the hole pattern which is actually correct. Glad I made this choice!

I bought this because I bought 3 gaming chairs a few years ago, and 2 of them boke the mechanism before one year. The seller sent replacements for those 2, but they were the same low quality mechanisms thar will probably break again. My 3rd chair that I use finally broke a few weeks ago, so I decided to get this heavy duty mechanism. I am very happy with it, because it is ay least twice as heavy as my old broken mechanism was. It installed easily. The only problem I have is that my chair had a pull out footrest that I can't put on right now, because when it is pushed in it will now go all the way in due to it hitting the adjustment lever. The old mechanism had a lever that was bent downward, and this one is straight. I may try to bend the lever a little, but it is thick, so it may not bend easily. This is not a fault of the mechanism. It was just not designed for a chair with a pullout footrest.

My 20-year-old Bombay office chair was leaning badly to the point it could not be used. I was told by 3 different repairman it could not be fixed. I found this replacement and it went on in 2 mins and the chair is like brand new.

Right now I am very happy with this; I have replaced several of these over the years and this one has the best spring balance, the truest position of the holes to fit on the bottom of the chair, and the seat is the most level it's ever been including when it was brand new. HOWEVER...I won't give it 5 stars *now* because I've only had it two weeks. The most important quality one of these things need is durability and it is too soon to rate that. I'll try to remember to come back to this in a year or so.

The thickness of the metal is greater than the previous one that I had, this makes it stronger and more durable
