Mine got very hot as I was transferring close to 95% of it's rated capacity...which took 6 hours to do. After it got so hot, slowing down to a crawl, then stopping for a minute before restarting I did get all my files on it. But, then it started losing the files. Lose a file, put it back, lose another, until it eventually lost 25% or so of my files and wouldn't take a transfer of them back without losing as much as I was putting on it. I DO NOT RECOMMEND it for use for anything close to what they rate it.
