It made my life so much easier. I bought this to use as a syphon for my homemade wine making operation. The filter fits into a standard carboy opening. I inserted it into the carboy, squeezed the pump part twice and away it went. Did its job perfectly. The filter prevented any sediment being sucked up during the racking process and to my surprise it got every drop of wine out of the jug even when the liquid level dropped below the top of the filter. It is super easy to clean, I just filled a bucket with sanitizer and water and went through the same process. Inserted filer, pumped, and let the water flow through the syphon until it was clean. For this price and the amount of trouble it saves you I cannot recommend it enough. Wish I had found it sooner Review: Makes racking homemade wine much easier - This siphon works great for such an inexpensive product. The hand pump is great. No need to inhale wine to start the siphoning process. My only concern is that it takes a while for the inside of the tubing to dry after cleaning/rinsing.
