This lovely fountain shines best in full sunshine! The birds love it and it helps keep water moving and fresh. Such a nice addition to our garden.

Now this has been my surprise purchase of the season! The SZMP Solar Fountain 2026. The majority of us have seen the advert somewhere, person takes this space age looking disk device, throws it in to some water and "Hey Presto" instant magical water fountain. "yeah what'ever like that could even be real" Against the feeling of "im only going to have to return it if I buy it" I purchased one. I had just purchased a bird bath (also from Amazon for a Robin that frequented my garden, I though he may like it due to the hot weather that us Brits have been having. The bird bath worked great, but then and idea struck my mind, " it would be great if I turned the bird bath in to a water feature? i mean, everyone loves showers, even the birds I bet" I looked around my go to, Amazon and saw plenty of water features, with pumps, pipes, fixtures fittings etc then I came across the SZMP Solar Fountain 2026, the photos looked amazing and it even had king fisher birds loving it! surely my Robin would think he had got it made! and at only £12.99 at the time of writing. Amazon make it so easy to return stuff, ill buy it. Delivery was superfast, package arrived secure and undamaged. The SZMP Solar fountain arrived in a small brown cardboard box, nothing flashy just a simple picture of a water fountain in black ink. Opening the box was a set of instructions, that were easy to read but tricky to understand. The solar fountain itself. Seven different what looked like nozzles. 4 clips. 4 clear plastic long tubes. A small bag of what look like filters Not being one for instructions, I figured out that the grey clips clip on to the unit via the almost hidden slots in the back of the unit, the clear plastic pipes then go on to the other end of the grey clips, so you end up with a star fish looking thing. The main unit itself looked quality built, solid with a little bit of weight to it, it is also pretty looking, with an array of small solar panels covering the top. mine had blue trim but it is available in different colours. There was a packet of nozzles with various different formations of holes on to and some to the side, and a larger hole at the bottom end of the nozzle that fitted perfectly in the centre of the water fountain. Job done? Could not figure out where the black filter pads went, but upon further examination I noticed one had already been installed in the rear of the unit (if you need to replace, remove any nozzles and push gently from the top towards the back and the unit should pop out) As I held it in my hand I though to myself "this is never going to work" I went to my garden and placed my new star fish into the bird bath, the plastic tubes were hanging over the edge of the bird bath stopping it from going in. The plastic pipes are used for making sure the fountain unit stays in the middle, you are meant to cut these to your required size, hence why they are over sized, they do not have any effect on the water flow. This all sounds very good Lupin, but does it work? I went back to my bird bath after cutting the tubes to the right size, remembering the advert of just put it in water and voila ....so I put it in the bird bath. HOLY MOLY!!! the fountain sprung in to life! there was a glorious fountain in the middle of my garden, no wires no external pumps, no costly electricity bills to think of, this was amazing! I could not believe it, I though that is pretty, and immidiatley changed the nozzle to a different type, then another then another, all of them were soo pretty, As this is an honest review, I then purchased 2 more for family. As I returned from my purchase and went back in to the garden I noticed that the fountain was "whirring" and no jets of water were being seen, upon closer inspection I noticed that the bird bath was empty. The SZMP Solar Fountain 2026 was so powerful that the water shooting up in the air was not returning to the bird bath but watering my garden. The power of the jet is determined by the strength of the sun. full sun, full power! Any issues Lupin? My only want from this device is possibly a power option, to adjust the strength of the jet no matter how strong the sun is, but really that is it? oh yeah, and no King Fishers have visited my garden ....yet? After trying every nozzle I opted for no nozzle, as with my tiny bird bath it was the only one that did not throw the water over the sides. (see photo) its ok, there is still the beautiful sound of running water in the garden which I love. So if you are going to buy a SZMP Solar Fountain 2026 make sure that you have a large enough bowl for the water to return to. Greybeard recommends the SZMP Solar Fountain 2026.
