For me, they work best when I am eating moderate quantities of a low sugar diet that is rich in water, minerals and clean fats such as organic olives or olive oil.If I'm experiencing menstrual bloat, taking the pills on only those days doesn't work as well as starting to take them several days prior and continuing until the worst of the cycle is over.If the bloat is from food such as salad, the pills work, provided my diet is not too high in sugar and I don't overeat.
