STANLEY 8" Half Round Carbon Steel Blade Hand File Bastard Cut, 0-22-501

I've now used one of these 8" files for a number of different jobs over a five+ year period and the tool has lasted fairly well, although it is now ready for replacement. While (in my opinion) not quite matching the standards of Stubs engineering files - once produced in the UK, it's not badly made. So I will be replacing this particular cut with another Stanley 8" of the same type. The handle is certainly quite ergonomic and I'll be removing this for possible future use with another file.

Used it to sharpen my lawnmower blades. Great value and does the job.

Arrived quickly and in good condition. Only initial downside was the slightly over zealous shrunk on plastic protective sleeve covering on the teeth of the file. A bit awkward to remove but otherwise usual Stanley quality. Comfortable handle and nice and sharp.

This is very well made , and a useful length. Does the job well.

Ottimo prodotto, con una finezza: un bordo laterale inciso ed uno no. Un piccolo difetto, il manico non è perfettamente in asse. Inoltre sarebbe utile l'indicazione del tipo di taglio (nel mio caso dolce) che ho scritto con pennarello sul comodo gancio per appendere. 5 stelle sono comunque meritate.

La lima che da me provata ha una lunghezza complessiva di 32cm (compreso il manico) ed è di 20cm la parte di utilizzo. Il diametro è di 7,5mm. L’ho utilizzata per traslare il foro su una barra di acciaio della mia Harley dello spessore di 3mm e devo dire che in pochissimo tempo e senza sforzo ha rimosso gran parte del materiale come da foto. I “denti” sono rimasti integri (quindi è fatta di un materiale altamente duro e resistente). L’unica accortezza per non rovinare i denti è quella di premere quando si spinge in avanti e sollevare quando si ritorna indietro, in questo modo si eviterà di danneggiare i denti. Ottima lima!
