The actual light is great, but I bought 3 and the charger didn't work on any of them.

This night light is quite lovely. I am an adult with insomnia. I purchased the yellow one for a steal through Amazon warehouse used items. The dome part is a white, soft silicone material that does not have a weird smell. It takes 3 AA batteries. It has a tap function, so the first tap is a dim, but warm yellow-ish light which is very nice & not too bright at all in my humble opinion, the next tap, the light gets a tad brighter & whiter & the third tap has the color changing lights from green, yellow, pink, teal, red, blue (not in that exact order lol) & the fourth tap turns the light off. The problem I have with the particular one I received is that the charging port is similar to an Android phone port or Kindle port & the metal piece was broken off & floating around in the base of the light upon arrival. I could not fix it, so I am not able to make use of the convenience of USB charging & have to use & rely on 3 AA batteries to use my light. Amazon also sent me the incorrect charging cord as well-it's not like I am able to use it anyway. None the less, I like it & it is still working as of now. When it stops working, I may purchase another one? Thanks for reading my review. UPDATE 9/2/17: This light has stopped working completely. No more tapping to turn on, color change or turn off. I have contacted the company to see if they would be willing to send me another one to try. So for now, I have changed my rating to 1 star. I am very disappointed!!!! If company reaches out & sends me another one & it works longer than 1 week, I will change my review.

Goods: This light is as cute as it appears (we got the yellow base; it's a pleasant unassuming shade). Its top is cushiony soft, perfect for bopping to switch the light settings, and for anyone who enjoys inexplicably pushing their face onto things... as our child does. The battery compartment is not accessible for children, but at the same time doesn't break the symmetry of the item. The light sources appear to be something like 10-12 gentle LEDs spread over an inner circle circle on the plastic base; you can see them if you remove the mushroom top. The light has four modes, which you cycle through by bopping it: - off - low (a nice night-time light level; more diffuse than a wall night light but will prevent you from tripping over things if you get up at night) - medium (you could read by this; we often lay down with it next to our faces and hold a book in front of us) - color cycle (red, green, orange, blue, light blue, purple, etc.) This is festive and about the same brightness level as medium. Each color stays for about 3-4 seconds before morphing to the next. I held an optical spectrum analyzer up to my eyes while watching the light cycles and the colors are fairly pure, making a deep satisfying color that projects satisfyingly onto the whole mushroom cap. We bought this for our 3yo because of his ambiguous bed-time fears. I didn't want to get a regular (persistently on) nightlight as I wasn't sure it was the dark that was scaring him. Regardless, this light worked like a charm, and it's so cool I'm considering buying a few for our (adult) rooms and bathroom counter. I think the little ones will generally like the idea of having control of their night light, giving a bit more confidence for sleep. It's faint enough that even in its brighter setting our little guy sleeps well. The light is easy to bop on and off, and so far has survived a few good drops from his bed onto a hardwood floor. The product is very sturdy, and yes the squishy cap is removable, but only comes off after particular types of moderate to strong harrassment, and it's very easy to put back on (my 3yo has managed to replace it). Sometimes we remove the cap on purpose, because the LED lights look cool without the cap: you can see them beneath a protective plastic cap. The plastic base is a smoothly textured plastic, feels soft to the touch. All-around a lovely and gentle product.

This was cute, but the battery doesn't last long and it came with a USB cord that doesn't even fit into the port of the light. This may work better for a camping trip or a sleepover, but not practical to use daily.

Got this for an aging dog who needed a subtle nightlight so he knew where I was when he woke up and needed go out that wasn't too bright and wouldn't detect his motion on and turn off all night. He was my everything, and this brought him a lot of comfort.
