Can I use smart plug to control switch on and off heating without the timer on the heating itself

I can not see in my opinion any reason why you can not put a timer (that is what I refer to as a smart plug) on the wall socket and attach the heater plug to it. I suspect you will have to ensure that you have the heater permanently switched on at the desired heat control switch.If the smart plus is one which will turn on the heater when there is a temperature control I would also beleive this would also work. Just reiterate this only my personnel view and if you have any doubts I suggest to speak a qualified electrician.

Why is my future oil wall heater panel not lighting up when switched on. I have to switch it off at plug not set on timer

I think the back-light goes off after so many seconds on purpose but the heater and programmer will still function as its supposed to

Well it needs to be plugged in .....so would say no as you don’t usually have a plug in the bathroom
