DDR4 DIMMs fit snug so they don't rattle around. Anything with heat spreaders are going to use extra slots due to the added thickness. Probably order a couple more soon.

Jammed a bunch of PC4 into these. They did the thing a tray is supposed to do. Would order again.

This tray is sturdy and holds the ram very securely so they can't fall out when you move it or carry it without the lid on. Ignore any bad reviews for the types of trays where people drop stars because their super tall / big headsinked gaming ram takes up 2 or 3 spaces or is too tall for the lid to shut on it. That is a given you should already know is going to happen. This is a standard tray for standard rams stick. The lid DOES fit ram with normal height heat spreaders. I have one of these full of Samsung double sided ECC server ram that has dual sided wrap around aluminum heat sinks on them and the lid closes completely.
