Case-Mate - iPhone 7 Plus Case - KARAT - 24k Gold Elements - for iPhone 8 Plus / 7 Plus / 6s Plus / 6 Plus - Gold

I originally went shopping for a crystal clear case -- I got the iPhone 7 Plus in jet black and wanted to really show it off. The CaseMate Naked Tough Clear gets five stars for being the only case I found that was transparent rather than translucent. If you are looking for clear, I would even recommend it -- but not for Apple's jet black. The case's down side is it shows every finger mark and is prone to fine scratches when wiped. It didn't take long for my protected iPhone to lose that show off quality. CaseMate has great customer service -- returns / exchanges are no problem. So, here's my review of the Karat Mother of Pearl case -- I cannot find one bad thing to say about it. It looks better than the picture (or any picture I tried to take!). It feels good in hand -- unlike the Brilliance Line, the chips are embedded in acrylic for a smooth feel. As for the reasons we buy a case -- I am sure it offers excellent drop protection. The case is hard plastic, but Casemate will replace it if it cracks, trust me on that! The bumper protects the screen and the camera is recessed deeper than the case. Lastly -- I started out looking for a case to enhance my phone and ended up with a phone that enhances this case. It looks fabulous on the black phone -- lots of glimmer and glam, but with a sophisticated edge. Do not hesitate to purchase the Karat Mother of Pearl.ETA: ... and even longer. :-) HOW TO REMOVE THE CASE: Well, I read several reviews with mention that the case was hard or impossible to remove. This had not been an issue with the Clear case, so I tried to remove this one using the same method -- phone face up, press with thumbs on the bottom corners -- wasn't even budging. So I called CaseMate. "From the speaker end, pull up on the bumper." The rep suggested slipping a credit card between the bumper and the case at that point, but that did not work for me, I could not get the bumper loosened. So, I slipped a flat craft stick into the speaker hole in the bumper (phone was face up, stick went in going away from the phone) and gently pulled up until I had enough bumper to get a firm grip with my fingers. It then pulled out fairly easily. Yes, the case went back together fine, bumper was not stretched out, ripped or misshapen.

After seeing all the comments About fakes I decided to try this anyway and just return if fake. However I believe it is real and am posting pics of all angles and packaging it arrived in. The packaging is different than the white pull tab one you see on casemates website or Best Buy but it still appears legitimate.Aesthetically the case is pretty, smooth feeling on the edges and not slippery. All buttons, speakers and charge port are accessible. The silver buttons attached to case are smooth and work great. I would have made them rose gold not silver but this is my only complaint.The back allows the rose gold case to shine through and is deep enough to provide protection for the slightly raised camera lens if it fell flat. See pic for close up.It's difficult to photograph but there is a tiny raised area around the front to provide protection if dropped facedown on the screen side. This case is not life proof but seems good enough for my use which I basically keep in my purse. I did not use a screen protector with my 6splus and won't with this one either. My philosophy on that has changed because of the toughness of the glass they use and my carefullness when handling. However I noticed casemates website offered a free glass screen protector and 15% off when signing up with email. Which makes the cost of their phone 42.50 with free shipping and a screen protector. That deal expires 7/16/17. So that may be a better deal if you use screen protectors.This case uses a silicon edge that wraps around the phone first with buttons attached and then the plastic back snaps over it. I don't have info about yellowing of the silicon but for some cases this is a problem. There is a limited lifetime warranty and I think yellowing would be a reason for replacement if this happens.I also like case designs are under or inside the plastic so the case feels smooth. Other casemates designs I looked at had complaints of stones falling out. I also considered the waterfall cases but so many reviews were unhappy with bubbles and leaking so I ruled those out also.Overall this case is the nicest in its category which is a little more protection than the slim line one piece cases and less than otterbox/life proof chunkier ones.edit note: Amazon is not publishing all pics taken so all the views I posted are not included unfortunately.

REVIEWING MOTHER OF PEARL CASE however I can't figure out how to change "Create Review" from my old review of the Metallic Rose case. Anyway - the Mother of Pearl case is gorgeous! I have an iPhone SE 2nd generation phone which is compatible with iPhone 6/7/8 cases. It's black so the new case really pops with the contrast. I had to take photo of it with my Mac, and couldn't get a pic to do it justice. The prominent colors vary according to light - sometimes gold is prominent, sometimes white or aqua. The case arrived in the Casemate box & has Casemate logo so it's the genuine article. These cases are easy to install once you get the hang of it - READ THE DIRECTIONS. Start with the rubber bumper then add the case. To remove case, start with the rubber bumper at bottom of phone. These cases are sturdy. I had the Rose Gold case for my iPhone 7 which I'd managed to drop a few times on the concrete patio & my phone continued to worked fine. I used that case & phone for 3 years & eventually the clear rubber bumper took on a yellowish tinge that I didn't notice until I removed the case from the iPhone 7 when I relinquished that phone. I love these cases & recommend them to anyone who likes a bit of pizazz! I seriously sometimes just like to look at the case & move the phone around to catch the light.
