Review: These work great as replacements for silver brazing rods at a much lower costs. - I've used silver brazing rods for 40+ years. I bought these because they are much less expensive than silver. I tried them out and as far as I can tell they work just like silver rods. I think they might have a slightly lower melting point, which is fine with me. I like to go outside and work on my Ham Radio wire antennas. I use a Mapp gas torch for this. With the silver rods, it took a little more effort to melt then. These flow perfectly. The joint formed is hard as rock.
Review: Brazing rod for jewelry making - I'm just learning how to braze in jewelry making. This was my first purchase. recommended from a professional metalsmither. Before using I cut them in thirds and ran them thru my rolling mill tight enough so they split. I learned that doing more than 1/3 they wouldn't split. By splitting you have less solder to go onto the metal and that's a good thing. Otherwise these are too thick for this process. When I run out I plan on buying more of the same.
