I just got back from my first run in these in 27 degrees. They kept my feet comfortable in regular running shoes (non-gortex) without getting cold. I wear a size 6 (or 6 1/2) shoe [women's] and ordered a small. I will say they are maybe a little loose but not unbearably. I'm not sure I would want to go on a long training run/race with socks that were too big like this but they work for shorter distance for me. This likely isn't a problem for bigger feet but I know it can be a problem for those of us on the smaller side. The orange color is ok. I'm wearing them with pants though so it's not real important.I also want to point out that they are much higher than they appeared to me. These go about 5 inches up my calf. I literally won't wear anything else now; while they are not the thickest or warmest socks available, they keep my feet dry and warm in normal winter running conditions. They are lightweight and dry very fast after washing (I've washed in the washing machine in cold water and hand-washed them), and have kept their shape without any noticeable wear. I've got to get another pair of these soon!
