Excellent wood finish
I stripped a vintage oak standard lamp which I would normally just wax but the different components were a bad mismatch of colours.Having read useage tips and reviews of linseed, tung and Danish oil I opted for this. It's easily applied with a soft lint free cloth and soaks in To bare wood easily. I. Applied 3 coats over 48 hours and the finish is really excellent. Re coating took a couple of minutes so it's not difficult, although you do need somewhere out of the way and relatively dust free to leave it to cureI find stripped vintage oak is quite yellow tinged with grey, and I prefer it to the dark treacle glazes often used on utility furniture in the 1930s and 40's especially. Danish oil does colour your project.. The lamp is now a deep reddish brown which may not suit those like me who prefer light oak, but due to mismatched wood I needed some colour anyway. The, lamp looks really good.. The colour is rich and deep and looks very natural not at all like a surface applied stain. Despite being oil based the product dries with a dry non sticky sheen when cured. The instructions reccomend applying An Annual Refresher coat to maintain protection otherwise it is maintenance free.If the colour is what you are after I would highly recommend this oil as an aesthetic as well As practical finish to bare new or restored wooden items.Although there is no evident top coat as you get with varnishes, the wood feels more resilient and protected to the touch.. And it enhances graining and texture without detracting.

Highly recommended
I love this stuff!!! I originally order to refinish a bass guitar. I got a bit creative and added some teal oil paint to it and mixed in well, then applied the oil and rubbed in with 1500 grit wet and dry. The finish is glossy and gorgeous. The grain in the basswood looks great but it’s a shame that the basswood is soft otherwise would have been much better on an ashGet creative, it mixes well with oil paint 🎨I’m looking for other stuff to do now!!!A little goes a long way.

Great stuff
This oil is fantastic...only a light smell which isn't unpleasant but it made me sneeze lol. Went on easy just using a soft microfiber cloth and it goes a long way. This 500ml bottle will last ages. A great buy

Gives a beautiful finish.
Purchased to finish new cottage oak doors.I did two coats on 7 doors and they are now a sort of deep honey colour.Very good product and easy to apply.Plenty left for another coat when needed.

Large can does g pour well
This is a good, absorbent oil that’s easy to apply. I advise using a brush rather than a sponge. The tin of the 5L product was dented on delivery as the packaging was too flimsy. The funnel is badly design and doesn’t pour well, it dribbled all over the place.

Perfecto

Very good
Very good. It changed the look of my antique colonial-style teak desk. By repeating the application twice, the wood looked younger.

Great Finish for Engraved Wood – Rich Color and Lasting Protection
I used Furniture Clinic Danish Oil as the finishing coat on engraved wood coasters and door hangers, and it worked beautifully. The oil goes on smoothly, soaks into the grain, and leaves a warm, natural finish that really brings out the engraving detail. It gives the wood richer color without being overly glossy, which I prefer for engraved pieces.Application is straightforward—wipe on, let it absorb, and wipe off the excess. Once dry, it provides a durable layer of protection against moisture and everyday wear. On coasters especially, it helps resist water rings while keeping the engraved design sharp.Pros:Enhances natural wood grain and engraving detailEasy to apply with a simple wipe-on processProvides protection from moisture and wearWorks well for both decorative and functional piecesCons:Requires multiple coats for the best finishSlight odor during application (fades once cured)Overall, this is a reliable oil finish that balances looks and durability. It’s an excellent choice for small engraved projects like coasters, signs, and door hangers, but versatile enough for larger furniture too.
