As a medical aesthetician, protecting my skin from the sun is extremely important to me. I also have two little dogs that I walk every day, so I wanted something that would give me excellent sun protection without having to apply sticky sunscreen for a quick 30-minute walk, only to come home and wash it off. This hat is absolutely perfect! It’s lightweight, comfortable, and much more attractive in person than it appears in the photos. The face shield is incredibly convenient—you don’t even have to remove it. It simply snaps into place, slides on and off easily, and stays secure. One thing I wanted to mention is the strap shown across the front in the product photos. I removed mine because I don’t feel it’s necessary for everyday use. Unless you’re on a windy boat or in very windy conditions, the hat stays on just fine without it. Another feature I love is that the back provides great coverage for my hair, helping protect my hair color from fading in the sun. If you’re looking for lightweight, comfortable, and effective sun protection that actually looks great, I highly recommend this hat!

My dad recently finished radiation therapy and had to avoid direct sun exposure. This turned out to be the perfect solution for going on walks or enjoying any outdoor activity. It provides great coverage, especially around the back of the head and neck, giving him extra protection and peace of mind. Excellent product. Thank you!

I took one star off because the chin strap came broken. The detachable chin strap has plastic hooks that clip onto the underside of the hat; no big deal though, I'll just sew on both sides of the chin strap. The hat itself is very light weight. It has a wide brim to keep the sun out of your eyes and off your face. There is a piece of cloth at the back of the hat (non-detachable) that covers the back of your neck. There is an elastic band at the back to allow for sizing. To size down there is a little plastic piece you pull to cinch it tighter to your head. I feel like if you didn't have the chin strap, this might easily blow off your head, IF you have a smaller head, because the cincher in the back doesn't cinch that well. The front face covering is detachable, there are little plastic buttons that clip together to attach it to the underside of hat and back neck cover. I'd be careful removing/attaching the face cover from the buttons, they seem kind of fragile, so if you're too rough with them they might break. I have long hair, and although it doesn't have a hole to put a ponytail through, as long as you place your ponytail a little lower on your head, it won't cause problems wearing it. I dont feel like this would be a good hat for anything heavy duty, like if you were doing contruction work or hiking for days at a time, just good enough for you to do some summmer gardening, or use at outside gatherings like picnics or a concert. Overall, for the price it's a good enough hat.

Great sun hat for fishing trips. Wide brim and neck flap give excellent sun protection, and it's lightweight and breathable for long days outdoors. Adjustable fit works well too.

This hat very good. It’s nice not too tight. It’s really nice. I like to cover around me. I’ll have to see how it works out there in the sun when I get to fishing with it probably follow up with an update but so far I like it and the price you can’t beat.

It’s very light and thin, which I wasn’t sure how I felt about at first, but now I think it might be cooler on your head that way. I just hope it has good sun protection. It’s easily rolled or folded for storing, without taking up much room. UPDATE: Because it’s so thin, it does not withstand a breeze well, even with everything buttoned and tightened, it’s flown off my head a few times, and caught around my neck by the drawstring. It also creases very easily when stored, like big creases that make it sit funny on your head, and needs to be ironed or steamed, or soaked and laid flat to dry. I like that the back flap is permanently attached. I don’t like how most others are attached by a bunch of loops, which look horrible. The gaiter is secured safely with buttons, that blend in nicely. UPDATE: If you are a girl, be careful taking it off, especially when your hair is down, mine gets caught on both the buttons and the loops. Another slight irritant, is that the buttons on the brim are directly next to my ears, which is a little uncomfortable.

It’s super cute and protects me from the sun. I get compliments all the time.
