Great products, metal earth makes!
Awesome kit. This r2 unit is a little bigger than the stand alone r2 kit, and the paint adds a really nice touch. As far as the 3PO, I had a lot of fun building him. I like how they give you the option of building the red or gold arm, while I am a bit of a traditionalist and initially had intentions of building the gold arm, the red metal just looks so cool that I had to build it. 3PO looks pretty good for having been born of metal sheets, impressive, quite impressive. I’ve built over twenty of the metal earth kits and this one was challenging. I wouldn’t take the chance of building this kit without first having built a few of the easier kits. This kit is quite expensive compared to some of the more simple builds, so learn on them, take your time and you will be rewarded with a beautiful, truly museum worthy piece of art to proudly display in your space.

Bellissimo
Vale tutti i soldi spesi.

I can't get enough! What a fun hobby.
I love these! I have built 5 of these now (TIE Fighter, ICONX Millennial Falcon, TIE Striker, 1989 Batmobile, and this and I plan on doing most of the Star Wars ones. This one is one of the biggest and hardest ones. I would not recommend starting with this. The TIE Striker was the easiest so far. R2-D2 was not too hard with this one but C-3PO was definitely a challenge. C-3PO has the option of a red or gold arm which I appreciated. I went with the classic all gold look. The best tips I can give from doing a few of these: 1. Read the instructions very carefully. Pace yourself. Don't rush. 2. Get some very small needle nose pliers. You can find them on amazon or at a hobby shop. This will be your main tool that is the key to being precise and making a sturdy model. Some regular needle nose pliers you have in your toolbox may be too thick to work with these small pieces. 2. Get some small, cheap wire-cutters to help snip the pieces from the metal sheets. Try to only use this for pieces that are held together at three or more points. If a piece is held together by one or two points, it is best to use the connectors as a hinge and twist the piece back and forth until it comes off naturally. This makes a nice clean break without leaving a cut metal shard on an edge that might get in the way later. 3. Use a drill bit set and socket set to help curve pieces that need to be rounded. 4. Pay attention to when you should bend vs. twist a tab. Twisting is easier and makes a more snug connection, but it could get in the way later so pay attention to those blue dots and green triangles. 5. Bending pieces too much will cause them to break. Be careful when trying to fix mistakes. Especially if you twist a tab more than 90 degrees. Also if you twist a tab, there's really no untwisting it without it breaking. If you do break something, you can always cheat and use superglue to fix it.
