I'm using this as a balustrade cable on my deck between 4 x 4 posts. The cable is free from frays and as sturdy as I need. But I would be careful about using this cable for heavy lifting projects and supporting heavy objects. It would work great for things like clotheslines, decorative lighting, and fencing, but I wouldn't trust 1/8" cable for things like winching and heavy lifting where safety is a must. One other note about 1/8" cables: when using them for fencing in open spaces, be aware that the thin cable becomes invisible, kinda like glass sliding doors. On my deck, I have five horizontal rows between my 4 x 4 posts that have a top handrail, so it's more obvious and can be seen. If this is used in open pasture, it's advised to attach streamers for visibility. I'm happy with the quality of this cable.

Then there is not much that can go wrong with what is also known as aircraft cable. This 1/8" cable can handle about a 340# working load if you have done the connectors correctly. This kit comes with ferrules and sleeves but no crimp tool or Crosbys (wire rope clamps). Be sure you know how to secure the cable before depending on it. The low cost is great for getting a jump on your next project.
