Worth it!
In the ever-evolving world of meal replacements and protein shakes, Soylent stands out with its Complete Protein Shake, particularly the vanilla flavor. As someone who often juggles a busy lifestyle, convenience is paramount, and Soylent has managed to encapsulate that necessity beautifully in a bottle. The taste of the vanilla flavor is a balance between sweetness and creaminess without being overwhelming. Unlike many protein shakes that can have a chalky or artificial aftertaste, Soylent's Vanilla flavor offers a smooth and pleasant experience, making it enjoyable to drink. With a robust 30 grams of protein per bottle, Soylent’s offering is a powerhouse for anyone looking to up their protein intake. This is particularly beneficial for those who are active or looking to maintain muscle mass. The shake also contains a blend of vitamins and minerals, serving as a complete nutritional supplement that can occasionally double as a quick meal replacement, perfect for those chaotic mornings or long workdays. The ready-to-drink bottles are portable and easy to stash in your bag.

Oh no! Ingredient changes I'm looking for a new protein drink
Beware! Not only are there changes to the label colors, the info on the nutritional label changed too and not for the better. I used to love this drink. After the ingredient changes I'm looking for a new protein drink.

Best vegan option - means nothing really
This reminds me of the movie Soylent Green. And it’s not very far off from the concept. I give it four stars compared to other vegan shakes. Obviously, compared to a whey or milk based shake it is repulsive and vile. Among its peer vegan choices it is the smoothest and because it gives you 30g protein in less volume the torture is minimized. However, the bloating is just as bad. Also, per PDCAAS formula, it also sucks. You gulp 30g but what your body uses will be less than 25g of useful amino acids. If you have stomach reflux, stay away! It happened to me and the acidity and bitterness was worse than anything else in my life.

Excellent for what it is
You have to keep in mind that this isn’t a milkshake or chocolate milk. It’s not going to taste like a treat. However, the taste is not at all unpleasant. The texture is thick and creamy. Compared to other protein drinks I’ve tried, this is by far the most satiating, well worth the extra 80 cal compared to other brands. 30 g of soy protein isolate is a highly digestible form of protein, and the small amounts of fat and fiber really help it fill you up. Great if you don’t have time/an appetite for a full meal

Excellent occasional substitute for a small meal or a hardcore snack
Awesome nutrition, very enjoyable taste and texture. Very convenient (pleasant to drink at room temperature, long shelf life). Reasonably priced compared to my other choices for a meal substitute. I’m vegan and the only non-Soylent nutrition drink I’ve tried in years, has been Owyn. Owyn is acceptable if I’m desperate, but it tastes like chemicals compared to Soylent - Soylent tastes lovely to me. I’d probably burn out on it fast if I drank one more than once a week. But having them that infrequently, I love them.

This is not the meal shake, it's the protein shake.
First of all, be aware that this is not Soylent Complete Meal Shake. This is the smaller and much less appetizing Protein Shake. I made the mistake of not differentiating the two, however I thought I was ordering the Meal Shake. Turns out the meal shakes are sold out everywhere for some reason and are virtually impossible to get right now. That's a shame since I've relied on Soylent for my breakfast for some time now. I've been drinking Soylent since it first launched years ago, but they seem to be having supply chain problems. TL;DR - These taste synthetic and gross, not like the Meal Replacement Shake we know and love.

New formula is terrible!
Vanilla Soylent, the old kind with 20 g of protein in the old blue bottle, was my go to meal replacement drink. The new formulation with 30 g of protein in the blue and black and white bottle is so thick it is like drinking snot. It’s terrible compared to the previous version of the product. Buy something else, or else you have to water this down to drink it. Not enjoyable at all.

Soylent High Protein: More Protein, Less Drink and Less Enjoyable
As someone familiar with regular Soylent, I wanted to see how their High Protein version compares. There are some notable differences — not all positive. First, the bottle is smaller: 11 oz compared to the regular 14 oz. Despite being more calorie- and protein-dense (30g protein), you’re getting less product overall, which feels like a tradeoff rather than an upgrade. Second, the consistency is noticeably thicker. It’s more like a traditional protein shake — dense and borderline chalky — rather than the smooth, easy-to-drink texture of regular Soylent. If you prefer lighter drinks, this could be a downside. Finally, the flavor is underwhelming. Compared to the original line, this version tastes more artificial and has a lingering aftertaste. It’s not terrible, but it’s definitely not enjoyable either. Bottom line: If you need the extra protein and don’t mind sacrificing flavor and drinkability, this might work for you. But if you’re used to regular Soylent, this feels like a step down in taste and overall experience.
