It both cuts remarkably close and does a very good job catching those difficult hairs on your neck. On the downside it claims that the battery life is one hundred minutes. I have now charged it fully three times and I cannot get more than sixty-five minutes from a single charge. Once you know this it is not a problem but remember to take the charging cable with you when you book any holiday of a week or longer. Noise level: From a distance of eighteen inches, in a room with ambient background noise of around 30db the Wahl Vanish produces around 75db when fully charged. This could be considered a little noisy. However, when the battery level is low the noise level is as low as 61-62db.
