LUV THE SMALL BITES AND ZIP LOCK TOP !! *by H***K on August 30, 2014* i bought this and wellness for small breeds for my two havanese when i don't make their food, i also use merrickfood, ( canned ) with it that doesn't have anything i felt would be a problem i use the whole earth stew, because it had the best ingredients..they have tried it this week (they haven't had dog food commercial in months) and ate it no problem, haven't had any reactions to the foods i usually make homemade but need them to be able to eat good dog food too at times when homemade isn't available.i don't want them to be so picky they won't eat other things , havanese are known to be very picky..one of them eats well but my little boy is very finicky,, today he actually ate brussell sprouts with a tiny bit of parmesan. loved them.. he kills me, he will love something one day and not the next..the blue buffalo they didn't seem to like at all..plus it is harder for them to chew,bigger bites.i like this and the wellness small breed adult as both have very small kibble bites so it is so easy for them to eat.they also both have resealable tops..huge plus.. !I also make them a beef bone and chicken bone broth, simmer beef meat bones, marrow bones, chicken bones for a long time with celery and then freeze it in small containers for using to flavor all their foods and they get all the goodness from the marrow.. i have never given them raw food or raw bones, i know they say that is okay, but i just havent done it ..our dogs sometimes eat better then we do.. organic, etc.. as i would rather buy less eat less and eat quality, we were so spoiled over the years ... because(we had our own garden for many years that was organic and sold organic asian vegetables, yard long beans and purple long leaf kale were a couple of my favorites, but so easy to grow.. we will have a garden again.. right now in transition and after our current home is sold we will start another garden.. i miss my garden.. we used race horse manure,from the ocala horses, the best, chocked full of the vitamins given to the horses, i only mentioned that because someone might benefit from it)anyway got off the subject..to summarize;MY FAVORITE DOG FOOD BAG EVER ! IT HAS A SLIDING PLASTIC TRACK OPENING AT THE TOP LIKE ZIP LOCK BAGS SUPER.. !! LOVE THAT!this kibble smells fine, and looks nice, very nice thin small pieces for little dogs mouths.. perfect just what i wanted.. they eat it, and so far have not shown any sign of a problem.they have no tears, which i was glad as the food is not causing tearing... some foods cause them to tear and it shows right away, i do add some Braggs apple cidar vinegar a couple of drops to their drinking water every day, and it keeps the water fresh and it is good for them too.the only thing i noticed it says natural but not organic.. so i may have to keep searching for organic afer this one runs out..i prefer organic non gmo..i will update the review at the end of the month..my dogs don't want the same thing every single day they even get tired of homemade food so i am rotating between homemade, wellness, and halo with canned added to the kibble,and broth , this is what i have finally decidedwould be best for them in the long run that they will eat different things and adjust quickly to food changes,i am lucky they never have s/s that other dogs do such as diarrhea etc, on homemade food their poops are smaller which is normal as they absorb more nutrients so not so much to be eliminated.thank you i hope this review will help someone.. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ WORKS FOR MY 15 YEAR OLD DOG! *by R***R on August 16, 2016* This dog food is the ONLY dog food my very sensitive dog can eat. He is a small pomeranian with various digestion and health issues including arthritis. I have tried to cut out all the gluten and wheat and grains from his diet because he has such severe allergies to everything. Unfortunately, he still has skin conditions and I think he would have those regardless of this dog food. I use one part dog food and one part cooked chicken for his diet every day and he seems to do fine with this Halo product. Other dog foods would break him out worse or make his arthritis so bad that he could not walk very well.I add other things to his diet for his health too but this has been the longest dogfood we have kept him on with the fewest side effects and issues. He likes it and gobbles it up every day. I have to mix it with the chicken and some warm water to make a broth for him or it will give him constipation. It has dehydrated vegetables and fruit pieces in it and if he has too much of this (which often occurs towards the bottom of the bag), I pick them out and throw them away or it will give him itchy hemorrhoids. So why five stars even with these side effects? Because as I said, it is the ONLY dog food he can have that works for him.I wish they made this exact chicken formula with glucosamine and added bovine cartilage to it. I give my dog my own bovine cartilage powder from my daily capsule to help keep his joints strong.
