However I listen to playlists and each time activating my iPhone to just play the next song was depleting my iphone battery significantly. Make sure you have two AAA batteries bought separately and my recommendation for sliding the remote battery cover open is just wash hands and dry leaving just the slightest moisture on fingers - that gives good enough grip on the fingers to easily slide the remote open for inserting the batteries.
