Already spilled some coffee onto outside and it protected the laptop well from any damage. It snapped right onto the laptop with ease and so far, no stress damage o the hinges has been noted. This is the same brand that the Apple Store sells, so I'd imagine this product shouldn't hurt the laptop overall. It does have a smoother, plastic-like feel to it, so just note that there is little grip on the bottom of the case.

The case fit very well and has been able to withstand a many bumps without issue. The plastic is thick but not too thick and snapped easily onto the computer.
