I'm a 67-year-old woman who's always had great skin and keep my routine simple: lotion cleanser, moisturizer, sunscreen, and retinol serum two or three times a week at night. I was using a popular drugstore brand. When I ran out, I compared ingredients with this Amazon Basics version - they were identical. I decided to give it a try. My skin is touchably soft in the morning after using this product. Retinol in general has reduced age-related dark spots, and this formula works just as well as the pricier brand I was using. Great quality at a better price - no reason to pay more!

I decided to try after the Retinol moisturizing cream I was using was no longer available. There are so many to choose from and in my search came up Amazon Basics Retinol Serum. It works very well as it absorbs thoroughly into the skin, small wrinkles around mouth, eyes, and vertical lines above lip line are diminished. I then used on two age spots on my hand and after a couple of days it has lightened significantly and should be gone soon. Very pleased with this serum as it works as expected. Also, I don't think this has a scent and if it does, my nose is not picking it up although I am not fragrance intolerant.

This Amazon retinol has a nice yellow color so makes you think it is good . The pump is great also. Great price as well. I really liked the feel of the lotion . No scent no irritation. I will repurchase after I use all other products.

I have been using a name brand comparable product for the last year every single night. I saw this product and needed to try it immediately. Consistency is the exact same. Smell (or lack of) is the exact same. Bottle size is the exact same. Pumps are both of equal quality, no issues with either. And the results and effectiveness is the exact same. There is a slight difference in color, which plays not role in it's performance. The only important difference is this amazon brand is much cheaper. Save some money and give this a shot! It is great at reducing redness, smoothing skin tone and texture, and giving your skin some love. This is gentle enough for my very sensitive, very dry skin. Apply this and then a good moisturizer. I absolutely recommend.

This is by far more effective than any other retinol serum I’ve used before. When I think serum, I think of a translucent color, but this is creamy white and only a small amount is needed, and there is no offensive odor. I just reached 70 and have dry sensitive skin with larger pores. After a week of using this product once a day, I’ve noticed my skins texture looks and feels much better and lines around my lips are diminishing. I was hesitant to buy this, but the price point was affordable. Needless to say, I’m pleasantly surprised and will be buying more. If you’re using retinol for the first time you might want to apply it less frequent at first.

While this is meant to be a generic version of CeraVe's retinol serum, it really just feels like another moisturizer. It is quite thick and creamy, which is great for moisturizing your skin, but if you're looking for the benefits of a retinol product, you might want to look elsewhere. The bottle is conveniently sized, and the pump works well. If anything, I find a lot of product actually dries up in the pump between uses (even when using daily), so I question how much product is getting wasted as dried clumps that can't be properly used.

I was skeptical on this product at first, but figured for a cheaper price, it wouldn't hurt to try it. I could always order the CeraVe serum if I didn't like it, so there was really nothing to lose. The consistency of the Amazon serum is a tad thinner than CeraVe, which I liked. It goes on easy and dries very quickly without leaving my skin feeling sticky. As someone with some sensory/texture problems, I am so happy that it works the way it does. I have not had any sort of burning sensations, which I had occasionally with CeraVe. The pump is easy to use and serum comes out easily. I use about half of a pump to one pump of the Amazon serum nightly, followed by a moisturizer, and have noticed better results overall compared to when I was using CeraVe. Would recommend.
