Are these cat scarers any good? Most of the reviews are for something else

This is the 3rd one I have now i certainly feel that they help with cat invasion of my garden and would recommend you try one

My garden is surrounded by trees, will the movement of them set it off?

I can not hear the device unless I am very close to it and its a clicking sound. By very close I mean standing next to it. Sitting in garden 6ft from it do not hear a thing.

Half the reviews are for planters instead of an actual cat deterrent device. Is this device any good or is the 80% 5* review a lie?

It's been in my garden for a couple of weeks and I have not noticed a cat in the garden. I have seen squirrel at top end of my garden and fox. I have the device by the house to keep them away from roof and house. Small birds still come close to it so does not bother them. My garden is about 100 ft

It keeps clicking when there is nothing to detect. Any idea why?
