The Vault slide into the slots but they do not lock and I tried so many times and it was like building a house of cards and it would just fall. I had to use wood glue and I ended up breaking off part of the wood because it was just so difficult to get it to stay they look really nice once it was glued but immediately the little knob that has the ring on it barely touched it and it snapped off. I even had to glue the drawers together. I was not happy with this purchase even though it wasn't designed to be set up the way I did it.
