Brilliant. No more scale in the kettle and fresh tasting drinking water.
Superb! One of the things we were not prepared for when moving from Yorkshire to Norwich was the hardness of the water. It is at the maximum water hardness on the Clark scale, and we found that out kettle needed descaling every 2 or 3 weeks. We fitted a water softener to control the stuff going into pipework, toilets, washing machines, etc, but we were advised not to drink softened water because of the residual salt it contains. So, we decided to buy this. There are other water filters, but we have used a Brita fridge filter before and had some confidence that it would do the job. To be fair, this is quite an expensive outlay, but the results were well worth it. In the box you get the tap, fitting hoses and connectors, instructions and a water hardener measure - single use. The tap - is brilliant. Quite heavy and obviously made from good quality materials. The operation is smooth and easy to use. Fitting hoses - braided tap hoses - but 3/8" as they are from a European manufacturer. They supply a range of extra fittings to use with UK sized pipework and you can also nip to a hardware shop if these aren't enough. In my case the fitting was difficult. Not because of anything Brita supplied, but because of the mess left by the last plumber we employed who replaced a sink with, I can only assume, a large hammer and a bag of 9 inch nails. Once it was in place it worked like a charm. There is absolutely no scale in the kettle - even after a few days before this we would have seen tell tale signs - but now, nothing! Also, the water used for tea is clear. I drink my tea without milk or sugar, and I can now actually see through the liquid. It really is an excellent piece of equipment. I know it isn't cheap, and I note that replacement cartridges are about £35 a go, but for the taste of clean water, and the saving in descaling bags, I think it's worth every penny.

Simple to install and reduces scale
Delivery was quick and I received this fully boxed as the Brita mypure P1 sold on the official website. Bottom line is, it removes limescale and makes your water/tea taste better. For those who know the Brita jugs well, it's the same thing. There is a one time use water hardness kit, which allows you to adjust the flow into the filter for your water. Although a cool looking feature, I really wouldn't give too much credence to the light indicator (as was unhelpfully expressed by another reviewer), as it doesn't seem to have any kind of intelligent measurement of water flow. I might be wrong. If you have taste buds then I'm sure you can work it out after a few weeks/months. On a more specific note, this is easy to install if you have some DIY experience. I bought this to couple with my already installed Grohe Red Duo tap, which gives instant boiling water. I have done away with the Grohe blue filter which I can only find at £55 delivered (also gives me 600 litre use for my London hard water). If you have that tap, and want to also add filtered cold to your kitchen sink, then everything you need IS in this package to swap out the filter portion of that system. You do not have to buy any other hoses, reducers etc, as the t-piece in the Brita package can be used to supply both the Brita and the Grohe Duo. The hose connectors are 3/8" for both Grohe and Brita, which are German made. I have also reused Grohe's inline digital water meter set to count down from 600 litres. I used my water hardness kit to measure before and after installation. In the photo, the top test is the filtered water. Cheers.

Very Nice kit. Great tasting water
This comes with a really nice quality and stylish Tap. ( With filter status indicator light) The installation is easy, and the water taste is lovely. We live in North Kent and we have one of the hardest waters in the UK. this tap and filter is a real benefit. Worth every penny

Excellent product, I'm just a bit paranoid about leaks
This probably deserves five stars: The tap looks great, the instructions were very clear, all the parts required were in the box, well bagged up. I got a plumber to fit it as it connects to the cold water main and I get nervous about leaks (so far so good), this brings me to the missing star and why for me its not quite but oh so nearly perfect. The unit appears well made but it is plastic and every 3 months I get to fiddle with it, the enclosed T-piece adapter allows the unit to connect to the mains feed (i.e. just off the main cold water tap feed), given all this I would have appreciated a tap/valve rather than just a T-piece so, if the unit ever did leak I could isolate it and still have non filtered normal tap water. Happily the plumber understood my concern and added one just for me. Now I know the unit is German quality and therefore highly unlikely to leak this side of Brexit but I would have really appreciated that ability to isolate it just in case. I should also say it has a cunning mechanism to allow the cartridge to be changed without turning off the water...neat, maybe I will never need an emergency isolation valve? So, as it stands its perfect, I like it and I would like it a tiny bit more with a tap on the T-piece as part of the kit I hope anyone reading this understands my logic for a four and not 5 star rating, this is great product and if (as I supect will be the case) in 5 years time it hasn't dripped/failed I will gladly add the fifth star, meanwhile some people may wish to consider adding an isolation valve just in case.

Exceeding Expectations
08 Aug 2019 - Update. ================== The red light came on two weeks ago, I had very small scale built up, nothing compared to what I used to suffer, so I descaled the kettle with one dose (used to have to use 3 doses) and continued using the kettle as usual, I think at most it will last another 2 weeks to a month, so overall near 3 months. Still very impressed and still have absolutely no regrets. Bought first replacement filters direct from brita as they had an offer on, 4 for around £125, a bit expensive but worth every penny. Original review ============ After thoroughly descaling my kettle it would show signs of scaling up after a few boils and after a few days to a week it would need a descale. After a few weeks it’s pretty much a thin layer of scale everywhere. After fitting the Brita MyPure, it’s been two weeks of use and not one sign of scale! See photo. I live in South London so my water is Hard to Very Hard, confirmed by the supplied test strip. I left the filter setting on B (indicating hard water) and very impressed with the results! You can taste the difference and my tea doesn’t have that oily film on it, tasting much better as a result! I had a filtered drinking tap before so fitting this was pretty much a straight swap. It comes with a T connector but it’s 3/8” instead of 1/2” as most UK standard connectors are. However it does come with plastic adapters to connect 1/2” to 3/8” and vice versa. There’s supplied washers that you have to use when joining connectors, but be aware if you over tighten these adapters you will damage the washers and it will leak as experienced by me. It does tell you the torque setting to use and it does warn you about over tightening in the manual so it is my fault. But unfortunately I don’t have a torque wrench, but as a rule of thumb I would tighten by hand then use spanner/wrench to tighten 1/4 turn, if it leaks tighten further until it stops leaking. Do this rather than go too tight first, they supply the right amount of washers so damage one and you’re out of luck. They could of supplied some extra washers so for this I have knocked one star off the “Easy to install” rating. The tap comes with a little battery powered indicator which tells you when to change the filter, lights up green when you use it, when it turns red you have to change the filter. There’s nothing special with this, it just works on a timer according to the filter setting you chose. Helpful but instead I’ll be going by what my kettle tells me, when limescale starts building up then maybe it’s time for a filter change. It’s mean to last around 3 months with a B setting depending on your usage. It’s been two weeks since fitting and it’s been scale free, really really impressed with it and glad I no longer suffer from limescale in my kettle and tea!! Exceeding my expectations!

Not an easy job to fit, but works very well
Before you buy this check that you have standard tap fittings and then it's an easy job. Unfortunately the plumber who fitted our kitchen taps soldered them on so I had to take a feed off the cold water supply to the dishwasher and that was 3/4 inch which isn't provided as a converter with the kit. After getting the converter it was an easy job to fit and looks great and the water tastes good plus no scummy tea! Also you'll need a 12mm wood drill bit to make a hole in your worktop and a good quality adjustable spanner to tighten up the nuts.

waste of money
the first one lasted 7 months and this is the new one less then a month later! brita support is non existent and amazon didn't help much either - they offered a refund only for the filter - so, that's over £100 money wasted foe me - I needed a replacement to know if I need to replace the whole thing or just the filter! to order the filter again - only for a month later to run out - and waste again another £40???

This is great and tastes just like the Brita jug filters.
Very happy with this. Purchased a different brand originally and it wasn't very nice, went to this Brita and it's just like the jug filters. Really good, we have got about 4 months out of the cartridge so far and still no limescale build up in the kettle! Always use the separate drinking water tap where you can, I tried it with our normal tap first and it ruins the taste of the water. Using the dedicated drinking water tap it tastes great!

All good except the plastice pipe fitting is weak
I like the quality of the product and the water tasted great. The only hiccup was the plastic pipe fitting. It is broken when I am twisting and replacement was not available in Australian hardware shop.
