Much more flavorful than expected! Great on popcorn.
I had been buying smaller, more expensive bottles/cans of truffle oil and when the one I usually purchased was not available I looked for an alternative. I took a chance on this one and am glad I did. It would have been a waste to buy such a large amount if it turned out I didn't like it. It actually has just as much if not more truffle flavor than my usual, much more expensive one (per ounce). I use it on popcorn with a little truffle salt. Yum! For the price per ounce, this is cheaper and I like the flavor, so I feel like it is an excellent deal, especially if you will be using it frequently.

WOW! Even my traditional rural America best friend loves this truffle oil!
I wasn’t sure that I’d ever tried white truffle oil before, so when I received this huge gallon jug of it I very cautiously poured a small amount into a dish and dunked in the corner of my homemade sourdough bread. That was interesting, I thought before walking away. Half an hour later I sampled it again, walked away while thinking about it. Did I like it? I didn’t know. However… by the end of the day of dipping small bits of sourdough in this truffle oil I realized “My gosh, I must really like it since I’ve gotten through almost three tablespoons of it. YES, I LIKE IT!" I then tried drizzling it over roasted asparagus the following day and without a word, served lunch to my husband. A while later he asked me what I’d dressed the asparagus with since it tasted different than usual. I asked him if he liked it prepared that way, he said “Yes, it was different but I really liked it." Finally I filled a pint Mason jar with it and gave it to my best friend, who has the most typical rural American taste buds ever. She’s a meat and potatoes gal who strongly dislikes “foreign foods,” but then she read up on truffle oil and decided to try it. She said “It tastes great on potatoes, just a little bit instead of butter!” Of course I don’t mean to say that all rural Americans are adverse to new flavors (certainly not the case at all), yet she’s an "Old Time-y” traditionalist who usually won’t touch anything that her mother, grandmother, great-grandmother going back 100 years didn’t make on their farm. If my dearest friend likes this white truffle oil so much, I know I’ll be giving some out as presents to my neighbors on their birthdays and at Christmas. I say FIVE STARS to this delicious Brasso white truffle oil which comes in a huge gallon-sized jug, plenty enough to share with friends and neighbors. It is really, really special — and quite affordable when one realizes that a pint jar can serve as a surprise to other people. Pint jar wrapped in a ribbon with a hand-made label is always welcome, and this huge gallon jug will fill eight pint jars! That said, I’m saving two in my own kitchen for when company comes.

A Delicious Finishing Note To Countless Dishes Will Make Each Memorable
Basso White Truffle Oil is a delicious truffle oil in a generous size that you will not run out any time soon. The bottle has a built-in handle based on the shape of the plastic bottle. The manufacturer also included a plastic helper handle that can provide stability when pouring. The light gold colored oil has a rich truffle flavor where a little goes a long way. It is a delicious finishing note to countless dishes from pasta to roasted vegetables, pizza, and popcorn. I used it to make truffle fries. It was delicious and rich. My teenager joked that we were bougie and that we enjoy the finer things of life by the gallon size. We also used the oil to dip fresh bread. It was tasty. I plan to make truffle mayonnaise next. The ingredients in this product include sunflower oil, extra virgin olive oil, and white truffle. There are 252 servings per container with each tablespoon serving containing 120 Calories, 14g Total Fat, and 0g Total Protein. It is a Product of Italy with a best by date of 22 months from the date that I received it. I am looking forward to adding this as a memorable finishing note to many more dishes to come.

Sunflower Oil with a kick of Olive and Truffle
I really like this Oil. It is primarily Sunflower oil but it has enough olive oil and truffle to give a really nice flavor. At only $90 for a gallon, it is much more affordable than the typical small bottles of pure olive oil with truffles. It is great for frying and for use as cooking oil. The sunflower oil gives it a much higher smoke point. We've used it for frying, stir-frying, and for tossing vegetables or potatoes before roasting and it stands up well. The truffle flavor usually comes out in a subtle way that adds a nice complexity to the dish. I could see that this would be a great way for a restaurant to put a "Truffle" item on the menu while keeping food costs at a reasonable place. Overall very happy with the "White Truffle Oil, Bulk, 1 Gallon (3.785 liters), Product of Italy, Non-GMO, Foodservice White Truffle Oil, Basso 1904".

A gallon is a lot of oil
We just tried this to sauté the base vegetables for a pasta dish and it worked as well as any olive oil I have tried. The infused truffles are very evident in the strong scent that filled the house while sautéing the garlic in it. When tasting the veggies during he process, it gave a nice truffle taste to the dish, but it was overwhelmed by the marinara when added. I'm sure it made a good base for the flavor of the dish but it was not individually present. We also tried it with balsamic vinegar and cracked pepper as a bread dib and it was good, although a little strong for just bread. We look forward to using it up over the next year, but so far we are happy with the flavor and quality.
